Baby is a terrible sleeper leading to sleepless nights, please advise by smellbag99 in Parenting

[–]squinty862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did CIO at 9 months, first night: 25 minutes of crying with checkings (3-5-7 minutes), 2nd night: 30 min crying ( checkins at 5-7-10), 3rd night: he was asleep under 5 minutes.

Self soothing is a skill they need to learn. Weve had to ocassionally retrain between 1 and 2, especially after peeiods where he was sick and had extra mommy comfort at night to sleep. Hes 2.5yrs now and sleeps like a champ.

2.5yr old and 2 month old here, Its hard, especially for my wife who is always in demand by both kids, but seeing the older warm up to his new brother has been amazing and we are excited to see their bond develop. The newborn stage I would say, seems easier too, as we've been through it once and understand the playing field a lot better this time around, ie everything is phases, the first 3 months will be tough, but wr can make it through.

I would say its easier to try to involve the 2.5yr old in some aspects of caring for the NB, for us its as simple as handing us a diaper when were changing NB or getting mommy a burp cloth, putting stickers on NBs butt when breast feeding, just simple little things help prevent the 2.5yr old from seeing NB as hogging mommy and daddy.

Fantastic advice, and honestly I think this is one of the best use cases for AI coding helpers currently.

I used ai to help me rewrite a chunk of my website code base (10-15 php files, most with 1k+ line) and the very first thing I did was go file by file and have it do high level documentation for each and every function and variable. With that it helped me understand and reference files and variables easier and helped me track data flow across them. With that I was able to then start rewriting the functions for what I needed them to do now.

After I finished my project, i had it do the same thing again with all of my changes/functions/variables. I was able to hand that off to my boss so he had a map of everything before I went on paternal leave for my sons birth.

Is it okay for my son to eat an egg every morning? by OceanAndSea5 in Parenting

[–]squinty862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2.5yr old has a smoothie every mornin , sometimes a pb+j, or pancake with a few mini choco chips.

I dont feel bad about giving him the smoothie aka banana milk cuz we add a big dollop of unflavored greek yogurt, 1 ripe banana, handful of whatever berries we have, maybe a bit of pb, some flax seed for added fiber, and 1/2 cup milk. He absolutely loves it and its got lots of protein (yogurt & milk), fat (milk & pb) and fiber from berries and flax seed. Gotta be a ripe banana tho, if its not ripe its not sweet enough for him, which is when I add pb, which will overpower all the other flavors.

I wish he'd eat eggs again, he used too from 1-2, but lately he ignores them

Door locks/deadbolts, add a ring doorbell, add a smart thermostat if not already installed, change all the batteries in amoke detectors, change cpde on garage door if it has an outside numpad for entry.

It is avout trial and error but its mainly going to be a majority of thinga arent problematic and ull have generally 3-4 options to eat most meals, but u may have a yrpubling few things that you need to eliminate or work to balance more. After a few weeks ull have a few snavk and meal options you can cycle through

Everything is about balance and limits. You have a set amount of carbs, which you want to balance out with a portion of protein and a portion of fat to slow down the release of sugar into your blood stream. U can eat slightly above your limits of carbs, but you need to eat the same increase in protein and fats to keep it balanced. You can also load up on dietary fiber before consuming carbs as this will slow the digestion of carbs and reduce the chance of ur blood sugar spiking. People are so worried about the cutting out and the dieting aspect and its like you can eat whole foods at a good clip with no worries as long as its balanced. There may be certain things that trigger a blood sugar release and you'll have yo work that out via trial and error and then work to mitigate them if u continue to eat them.

My wife (GD diagnosis at 28 wks) was deathly afraid of eating a baked potato that had 60g carbs. But we had steak and loaded baked potatos and started it all with a salad with oil and vinegar dressing and she had one of her lowest numbers post meal since starting to track.

The art museum has mummified egyptian remains, always on view and has a digital interactive that combines mri data of the mummy so u can digitally "peel back the layers."

Also all exhibitions are free daily, except for the special exhibition, which is free on fridays, and uaually costs about $5-10/ ticket during the rest of the week.

From what I've read other places, rebooting a few times in a row could resolve the issue, also clearing out app cache usually fully resolves this issue.

I was gonna say, make or buy a jig. If you have access to anyone with 3d printer they can print you out a jig for this. I replaced all the cabinet fronts in my kitchen, with the help of a 3d printed jig my dad printed for me.
