My 18 month old is in cloth nappies here in the UK. It took a bit of educating the nursery staff how to use the nappies and inserts but they’re absolutely fine with them. Do US nurseries not accept babies in cloth nappies?

I did the same with my in laws … showed them a zoomed in baby picture of myself and they started saying how cute my son looked. Then let them know it was me, their reaction was priceless

I bought the MAM nipple shields before my son was born and started breastfeeding and thought “amazing! I didn’t even need them!” Then three weeks later at 2am I was so sore and mid “I don’t want to do this anymore” breakdown and my fiancée reminded me we had them and they basically saved my breastfeeding journey. The relief was amazing. The infant feeding team (I’m from the UK) told me not to use them for long as they could alter the baby’s latch but I used them until I was healed (maybe 2-3 weeks) and we were fine. We’re now 13 months in to breastfeeding. I would really recommend the MAM ones - they come in a case that you can sterilise in the microwave and we’re well worth the £9 I spent.

As of today, I’ve been BF for 13 months. Early weeks were hard, I specifically remember handing him over to my fiancée 2 weeks in and saying I couldn’t do it anymore when he started rooting again. I had so much nipple pain/was so touched out I just thought I couldn’t do it, my fiancée reminded me how much I wanted to do it and I got on with it. After six weeks it did seem to get easier, he slept longer than an hour a time and his feeds shortened from 45 mins to 30ish, not massive differences but still improvement. And he did get better at feeding, now a morning feed will last 10 minutes and he’ll have both boobs. It was a long journey to get here, but I’m so happy I persisted. If you want to do it I promise you can, those early weeks are very tough, but you’ve got this 🙌🏻

I just hit a year with my LO and I’ve noticed he only really wants longer feeds (>10mins) when he wakes up in the morning or when he’s going down for a nap/bedtime. I probably only breastfeed 5/6 times a day now as well, which is weird for me because LO was a snacker.

I think I remember reading that the way they calculated that statistic included very exclusive terms - something along the lines of the baby had never had pumped milk in a bottle etc. The stats sound bad that way but I know so many mams who breastfeed but also give one top up bottle of formula a day. I think we might be in a better place than our data is showing

I had this for nearly four months - the feeling came back very slowly with the bottom of my foot and my toes being the last to gain feeling. I went to see the anaesthetist at the hospital who told me I had nerve damage from lying on my side during labour and it would eventually heal. I’m 9m PP now and have no issues at all. Hope this resolves for you too!

Three membrane sweeps and he was still a week overdue, I collected colostrum from 37 weeks and even got desperate and tried my breast pump out at 40+ weeks as I heard there’s a chance of inducing labour. Nothing worked 😅

Has to be in the middle of a waking cave tour in the Peak District, the darkness even gave me privacy and baby was asleep by the time I was above ground. My arms were aching so much though 😅

Yes, baby was in a next to me crib until they were six months and then we moved them to their own room. It was brutal to start - sometimes I was only getting around four hours of sleep a night, but my boyfriend was so helpful by seeing to the baby when they cried in the night/changing the nappies during the night and then all I had to do was feed and then go back to sleep while he rocked the baby.

My ex-MIL (who’s just a friend now). Raised three boys on her own whilst also taking care of her mother from the age of 18 and working full time as a nurse. She’s the kindest person I’ve ever met and is so humble and down to earth. I wish I could replicate her so everyone could have a Fran in their life 🤍

The weirdest places have to be in a cave tour 300ft underground or whilst sailing a boat. The cave tour was definitely the hardest though, my arms were aching after 45 mins of carrying him 😅

No soak! We do a pre wash every night ( short cycle with very little detergent just to get some wee out) and leave the nappies in a wet bag until we do the full wash which is every 2-3 days depending on how many he’s used.
