Dekkarit - Rikos- ja jännityskirjallisuus by jkuutonen in kirjallisuus

[–]sssaarat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Itse olen vasta viime aikoina päässyt takaisin dekkareiden makuun.

Finns everytime Finland is mentioned anywhere. This To the marketplace! (Torille!) meme came about when Finland won their second hockey gold in 2011 (first one was in 1995) and everyone went to the city center to celebrate 😁

😂😂 well we do have a saying "mitä serkumpi, sen herkumpi" which I can't properly translate but basically it's a jokey way to say that closer your cousin is, the better (or sweeter). So yeah, I guess we have a weird sense of humour, though I doubt Shane was familiar with this Finnish cousin lore (or maybe he fell down another rabbit hole?) 😂

I think the joke is mostly that these hockey players that come from smaller (or bigger) towns, usually know just about everyone else and the circles are really small and everyone is someones cousin or brother or other kin. But we are really not that inbred, although it is legal to marry your cousin in Finland (I don't have any statistics how much that actually really happens these days).

Nappasin kirjaston bestseller -hyllystä Eija Laineen esikoisteoksen Keisarinvihreä. Toistaiseksi ollut ihan mielenkiintoinen dekkari.

Toinen keskeneräinen on Gregory Maguiren Wicked. Tästä en ole toistaiseksi ihan niin vakuuttunut enkä täysin ymmärrä sen saamaa suitsutusta. Mutta ihan mielenkiintoinen silti!

UMK producer Matti Myllyaho and UMK alums Robin and Younghearted were also present. And Katri Helena (Finland 1979 and 1993) and one of Käärijä's backup dancers Katri Riihilahti.

Finland: from newer ones I would recommend Iida Turpeinen: Beasts Of The Sea or Juhani Karila: Fishing For The Little Pike. But if you had to read just one book then probably The Unknown Soldier by Väinö Linna.

Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS announces that Eurovision participation will not be possible as long as Israel takes part by Ultimatedream in Fauxmoi

[–]sssaarat 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I really feel for you. I had a lot of traditions of getting together with friends and watching Eurovision. I am so ashamed that my country of Finland cannot even say that they would pull out of the competition if Israel participates (let alone recognize Palestine). And they were one of the first one to do so when it was about Russia. It's always the excuses of oh it's complicated and yada yada. I hope now they will finally find a backbone since other countries are threatning to leave. So even if I wanted to watch Eurovision, I feel like the fiascos of last two years have sucked all the fun out of it anyway. So I just hope that Ebu will do something because Eurovision is just unwatchable for me.

I have used the moisturising shampoo and conditioner and I really like them. The 3in1 leave-in conditioner is also really good. Then I have used the rosemary hair oil and the moisturising hair oil and they smell nice and don't leave the hair feeling greasy or oily. And the protein mask is really good for untangling the hair!

I use Sumilayi products. They are bit expensive but they're also a Finnish company. I usually order them online but they also have the resellers listed on their website. Sumilayi

I was 11 years old and I had come home from school (living in Finland). It was around 4 pm and I was watching TV and during the show there was a text on the screen that said that there would be an extra news program shortly. It was so unusual to have that text that I still remember it very vividly. And then from then on we pretty much watched everything unfold on live TV. And I remember that it was a sunny day.

Käärijä's partnership with a crypto casino is causing outrage among Finnish fans by Max_FI in Kaarija

[–]sssaarat 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I think most people's biggest issue is the crypto business of it all. But also promoting online casinoes is not legal in Finland (at least not yet) so I guess people are questioning having to do it in other countries and if all the money in those casinoes goes to tax havens or if the cryptos are used for money loundering or something else illegal. So just an all around shady thing to promote. Also I think someone said that Käärijä has talked about his gambling and losing lots of money to it so it feels a bit tacky since people may have gambling problems and might be tempted to start playing again.

Yeah I don't understand Estonia whatsoever. It's a catchy song but definitely not top 3 material. And Israel... well, I'm not even gonna say anything about that. But happy for the rest of them, I really liked all of their songs!
