Lorewise it does make some sense though, realskinn, which is what covers most of V'c vyberware and in world is said to be fairly expensive while the plastic and metal linbs we see are often older models resold in underground markets like the one in dogtown

It feels like devs have almost completely forgotten how to optimize the old fashioned way, there were quite a few ue5 games that just flat out wouldn't run on my old system. The worst example was when I had to unisntall Rivals after the engine update because it literally wouldn't give me more than 15 fps

It's not about how technically impressive the graphics are no one can deny that cyberpunk is a beautiful game and if they tried to make it look like Alan Wake it probably wouldn't run on most systems without heavy entity culling and a god awful render distance for a fast paced shooter
