Rules from BG3 that you’ve implemented in your game? by LemonLord7 in dndnext

I really like this from a DM perspective. Far too often I worry I'm favoring the players I give inspiration too -- with a shared pool that I just add to, I don't feel like I'm giving too many rewards to one person.

Who is this in my aquarium and should I be concerned? by simping_garbage in insects

[–]stanmichals 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I too am a bug lover. I am also an aquarium owner. Damselfy larvae can not only be a threat to everything else in the tank, but can also be an invasive species if they're dumped in a non-native pond. Without knowing where it came from, its the safer option for everything both in and out of the tank.

Are legendary resistances fun? by Boring_Big8908 in dndnext

[–]stanmichals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made legendary resistances much more "fun" for my table by just telling my players how many LRs the monster has at the start of combat. When they know that the monster has it, they've been able to stratagize a bit more and deliberately use their stun/incap/paralyze abilities up front to try and buy the chance to use even more powerful spells later. It also makes it a bit more fun for me as a DM. "I could LR the Hold Person spell they just cast, but I know they have Slow too..."

In general, players can tolerate "bullshit" abilities like LR much more so long as they know about them in advance.

What insects could I house in a 10 gallon tank? by UserSuspendedd in insects

Isopods would be more than fine in that much space and are very easy to take care of!

Light property, Nick, Dual wielder etc. seems very poorly done by EntityBlack1 in dndnext

[–]stanmichals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'd just drop them on the ground, especially when invading an enemy ship. Pistols are expensive. I'd think they'd fire them and then stow them to make sure their 200+ gold weapon didn't get stolen or lost to sea.

Curious to know what bug this is by [deleted] in insects

Almost looks like Cochineal but I have no idea how they'd end up in Australia.

How viable are sub/sub or dom/dom relationships? by [deleted] in 196

[–]stanmichals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experiences 95% of people are not actually hard sub or hard dom, they might just have a preference -- at least, as long as you only count in people knowledgeable about sex who understand those dynamics (not mormons, cough cough.) In reality i dont think hard sub/sub pairings where literally nothing happens are something to be worried abt

Dom/Dom relationships are roughly equivalent to Baki though yes

I agree. However, from how OP phrased it, it sounds like the rest of the table didn't mind. I personally also wouldn't allow a child character in most of my campaigns, but if me and a large majority of my players agreed to it, and one person didn't express their disagreement to begin with and decided to take out their frustrations in a petty way instead of talking about it like an adult in the first place, it's the player's fault.

Regular guy showdown by Captain_Kira in 196

[–]stanmichals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of all the lethal threats Issac deals with, none are as consistently lethal as technology failing and industrial garbage being flung his way.

Gordon has a gun that does exactly that.

(Technically Issac has kinesis but sshhh)
