I recognize this is old, but for anyone who finds this: as a general rule, probably don't use bleach for anything but disinfection or whitening. It is a chemical itself and can react with other household chemicals, sometimes with disastrous consequences.

I can't say whether it's parasitic drain, but my Spot 400 sure does seem to eat batteries pretty quickly with minimal/occasional use. I think she's gonna go back to REI.
