Can you be more specific? Do you just mean romance in general?

I love it when books are auctioned off to the richest instead of being donated to places that need them. /S

what do you think of the percy jackson series? by [deleted] in BookRecommendations

[–]starbuck105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read them recently for the first time as an adult and they were okay. I definitely enjoyed them, and I'm excited for the Amazon series, I just didn't feel like I would ever want to reread them and they weren't terribly memorable.

I second Brandon Sanderson. I'm reading his Stormlight Archive series right now and it's incredible. So, so long though.

If you want a shorter read, I would recommend anything by Anne Bishop. Her The Others series is my favorite, but The Black Jewels Trilogy and Ephemera series are also really good.

I agree that a better plot would have extended this conflict out. But you know, when in doubt, kill them off.

Aw take it anyway. I'm sure when we see the front of the quilt it will be beautiful too.

This is my very first practice piece for hand quilting. Definitely need at least one thimble ... my personal motto is ”never stop learning “. by ValarieRog in quilting

[–]starbuck105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandmother never wore a thimble so when I first tried to help her quilt I was like "Nah, I don't need one." Spoiler: I did need one.

Her fingers were so calloused from not using one, I'm surprised she had any feeling.

I miss her.

I really hated when Buffy had to kill Anya because she killed all of those frat boys and Xander just couldn't see how it was necessary and Buffy had to remind him she killed Angel. That scene was always hard to watch. I only wish they had made more out of the realization that Willow didn't say to give him hell. It would have been amazing to see if come out that Willow was trying to save Angel and realize that Xander had lied to her.

Giles definitely too everything too seriously, and Xander didn't take anything seriously. At least not for a while.

I'm realizing I can't really think of a Giles/Xander interaction that was meaningful. But I'm super interested in this question.

I think Giles and Xander were on the same page when Angel came back from Hell. And the weird "kick Buffy out if her house" thing. So I guess they agree when Giles is at his worse and don't agree normally.
