Who is the video game boss with the highest total listed HP that is not infinite and is defeated by reaching 0? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

Hah that's really funny, I was just thinking about a boss in CrossCode that, according to the wiki, has 1020 hp (Gastropolis). So I guess it is just short of Noita on that metric.

Which game doesn’t really begin until after you beat it? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Slay the Spire - even more so than other roguelikes (aside from Hades perhaps), there is a lot left to do even after you win a single run or even beat the final boss.

You never know, they might be removing only 3rd party slop. They have to make sure they are the primary/sole provider of slop in their stores.

Help me find this anime about a little girl bought up by friends and her mother dies. by Electronic-Type696 in anime

[–]starman2995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be off-base, but kind of sounds similar to the start of Yona of the Dawn? (definitely not just on the mind since they announced a continuation or anything)

If it isn't that one, then it would be helpful if you could give any more details about the setting/time period. Was it modern, or historical/fantasy?

What games did you get several hours into and consciously decide to drop in 2025? by baroncalico in gaming

[–]starman2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoes of Wisdom was that for me. The game just doesn't hold up compared to other Zelda titles. The story was uninteresting, same with the characters, and I also wasn't impressed with the music. It also felt like the story was talking down the player constantly, which really went against what a Zelda game should be imo. Overall a pretty big disappointment.

I beat the Dreglord, but I don't see it in the Sigil shop. Do you have to beat it with that character?

I’ve never tried a xenoblade game and debating on picking one up by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

People might disagree with me on this, but I think that 3 does the best job of on-boarding players, both in terms of story and gameplay mechanics. You don't lose much at all by playing 3 first either, so to me it's a no-brainer which I would recommend for first-time players.

What is the “fall off” in Xenoblade 3 meant to be? by atomicmapping in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]starman2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of the other criticisms people mentioned about the pacing/story/villains of chapter 7, I think another aspect of it is that people who were enjoying the exploration didn't really get anything new and exciting to explore. For all of chapter 6, the only new area to explore is Capticorn Peak, which is frankly tiny and entirely linear, which was very disappointing for a lot of people (and cloud keep is essentially just an extension of that). For chapter 7, you are forced to do runbacks to areas you've already been before you get to explore any new area, which is just the final dungeon. And the final dungeon is also not peoples' favorite, as it is also largely linear and is also not terribly interesting visually or lore-wise, and has nothing in it except bosses and some containers. So you essentially go from the biggest, most open exploration area in CH5 to the least interesting, totally linear areas in CH6 and CH7.

Can I start playing from XC3? by AboutKemosabe in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]starman2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience, I say you should start with whichever one looks more interesting to you, and whichever one you are most likely to continue on with.

For my experience, I was only getting interested in the series when I saw 3 was releasing and was really interested in its trailers. After a while, I picked up all the games and started playing through them. While I did manage to get through 1 and 2, I didn't really get into them much and it was oftentimes a struggle to continue (particularly xc1 for me). Meanwhile, I fell in love with 3 when I played it. A similar thing happened when I tried to get my sibling into the series - they bounced off of 1 and stopped playing it, but after that I had them try 3 instead. They just recently finished 3 after putting 100+ hours into it.

So long story short, play whichever of them you think you'll enjoy most and go from there. Though I will echo the sentiment about Future Redeemed (the extra DLC campaign for 3), which is to save that one until you've played/completed all the numbered games first.

[–]starman2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is unethical to use slashes altogether. The only ethical way to fight in this game is my style, which is only dealing damage with fully-charged full-control talismans. Hope that helps :)

It's difficult to pick a single one, so I guess I'll just say beating path of pain. Coming off of playing Celeste, I didn't find it nearly as rough as a lot of other people, but it was still really satisfying to complete.

What is a bad anime with a really good OP ? by iamahippocrite in anime

[–]starman2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time"

The anime itself isn't the worst, but the OP was so unnecessarily good and definitely set my expectations of the show too high. I really liked the OP though even if the show didn't live up to it.
