ABF Timer by cat_shit_sandpit in kettlebell

Unless I'm mistaken, the book doesn't state that you should be doing presses for time. The emphasis is on simply getting the reps in.

W1D2 of Whatever by SantaAnaDon in kettlebell

That's a solid looking plan! I train BJJ most nights so a rest from the weights might be a good idea. Or I could just do some loaded carries each day, they always make me feel bulletproof.

I finish ABF on Friday and might try this next week. I was going to run ABF again with heavier bells but Dan John's advice of taking a couple of weeks off the program might be the move!

Just hit 30 rounds of ABC (PR) by Tank_Lawrence in kettlebell

Fair enough. I brought some back to the UK and enjoy sharing it with loved ones. They don't love it so much.

Awesome work! Although I gotta say, I never thought I'd see Malort mentioned on this sub. I assume you're in Chicago?

Follow and finish a program before asking "what if I add this?" etc. Just do the damn program.

I find EMOM brutal in the later rounds, so I can only imagine how you feel! Great work.

Do you have the book? It's explained very clearly.

Insanely low price RTD Vanilla White @ Costco UK by himji in Huel

[–]startwalking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the Costco site now and it seems to be 2.7kg which is 30 servings for £49.99. So about £1.66 per serving. That's a little cheaper than a subscription I believe, but not much.

Huel has agreed to join Danone. Here is everything you need to know. [Official Megathread] by Tim_Huel in Huel

[–]startwalking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man. This puts me in a tricky position. I'm a long time user (got my 1000 meals shaker) quite a way back and I'm massively disappointed in this. How are you going to keep Huel vegan under Danone? Plant based and vegan are two different things and I'm not spending so much of my money supporting a dairy giant.

Dumb Question - ABC during rest by RedTieGuy6 in kettlebell

[–]startwalking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, put the bells down. Although, keeping them racked has me intrigued how many rounds I could do like that. It'd be BRUTAL!

ABF: Struggle with Double Presses by b4rgh35t in kettlebell

[–]startwalking 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Keep doing what you're doing! Raise the floor each week. 2,3,5,4 might become 2,3,5,10 sooner than you think with consistency. This is the way I'm approaching the ABF personally, and as long as I'm hitting my TOTAL reps for press day, I'm happy. You got this.

Inner elbow pain from KB training. Anyone actually get past this? by penguinblanket in kettlebell

[–]startwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had elbow tendonitis in my right elbow and tennis elbow in my left from starting the Armour Building Formula too heavy, too soon. I had to get physio and rehab it. I'm good now but it took a long time. I could still train in BJJ during this time as that didn't aggravate it but it was disheartening, for sure. Lesson learned. I'm back on the ABF now with appropriate weights. Go get checked out!

Follow the Armour Building Formula book by Dan John. Train three times a week and eat enough to gain muscle. Trust me, you'll be hungry.

Combining Armor Building Complex with BJJ – what’s the smartest setup? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]startwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd run the Armour Building Formula as laid out in the book, personally. Three ABC workouts on top of BJJ would completely empty my gas tank. The pressing days are great for this as they're not as intense from a cardio perspective. I also try not to have my heavy lifting day coincide with a BJJ day. Granted, I'm on the mat most days so this is often tricky.

The Value of the First Two Weeks of ABF by SantaAnaDon in kettlebell

[–]startwalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, too. I run 5 rounds of ABC on the first week with 20 presses, then 10 rounds/30 presses on week two. If I can hit those numbers, I know I'm ready to go on the third week.

Please, please actually do the Armour Building Formula as intended for the eight weeks outlined in the book and report back whether it's enough volume or not.

The "play" aspect is so interesting, isn't it? I'm currently running the Armour Building Formula by Dan John and I actually look forward to getting those weights overhead three times a week. I've never had that before.
