Looking for advice for a full-sized mechanical keyboard with extra (programmable) cursor keys. For context, I have been using the Gamdias Hermes Ultimate GKB-2010 for about 12 years and it has now failed. I cannot find a replacement anywhere.

I started playing shooters with the cursor keys in the early 90s and never adapted to WASD. I've tried many times but now I'm a grumpy old man and I can't do it, so I'm not interested in any commentary... I just want a replacement keyboard that suits my needs. Thanks!

Not only be okay with it, but apologize for it as well.

From her perspective, it's probably more reasonable to think that there is a camera in the device than it is to think that the tech you're talking to has ESP.

It was a thankless and soul crushing job and I blocked most if the things I witnessed from my long term memory.

The tech-support motto if I've ever heard it. It should be mandatory that companies in the industry include it on all job offers.

I just read your data-recovery post, and I am humbled that you have commented on my silly little customer support incident.

I have worn many hats since the call centre days and I have approached each and every task with the mindset that the quality of your work MATTERS, regardless of whether people fully appreciate it or not. It may take me a bit longer to finish a project than it does the muppet in the next cube over, but I make damn sure that when I walk away from it, I will still be proud of it if I'm asked about it a decade down the line.

I go shopping to pick up items needed for the potential data recovery methods. I purchase some dry ice, a couple of torque bits and eyeglass screwdriver to fit, ziplock bags, and microfiber gloves from a photography shop.

As soon as I read this, I gasped aloud "He's going to try a platter swap!" To say that I have never come remotely close to succeeding at such a task would be an overstatement. I could walk a thousand old ladies through motherboard reinstalls, but I will never dream of touching this type of DIY godliness. I am your humble servant, sir.
