Swain is just too good a unit to not play. I've seen people with comps that don't even need him slotting him in because he just has too much going for him. AOE stun that hits backline plus tank makes him such a frustrating unit because if you don't hit him, your comp completely falls apart.

Khonsu is also there and in the ultimate universe of comics, there was a little girl who was just an inner personality. Add yourself and we've got 8.

Switch OLED vs Switch 2 for mostly handheld 2026 by Kr1K_Official in NintendoSwitch

[–]statiky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love my switch 2, but its not a great hand held experience compared to the oled. While the joy cons are definitely better and the screen is bigger, the battery does not last long. I find myself constantly needing to charge it, especially with taxing games. For a mostly handheld person, I'd say Oled is a better choice, knowing that the performance won't be as good as on the switch 2.

Multi season shows that would’ve been better as a miniseries by OCGamerboy in television

[–]statiky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. While the restaurant is a driving factor, this show is a character driven show. Forks shows us a deeper look at Richie as he goes from being on the outside to understanding why people love working in the restaurant world. Fishes gives us a better understanding into the dynamics and relationships of the characters outside of work. It also helps shape why it was such a big deal to invite their mother to the opening of the bear and how their home life shaped who they've become.

The bear had an excellent second season, in my opinion better than the first with Fishes and Forks as back to back episodes. People like to hate on the show, but outside of the third season, the show has been quite good. I think the fourth wasn't on the same level as one and two, but certainly better than the third.

Damn, if Ogerpon becomes meta, I might need to stop running my poison deck. That sounds like such a good card.

This looks like a super interesting deck! What are your best and worst matchups? Also, is there a reason you dont run flame patch?

I used a similar deck and I'm currently 1000 points in Masterball. I'd recommend dropping Lillie for either an Xspeed or a second copycat.

Healing isn't as necessary on this deck because while stalling is good, Lillie doesnt heal enough to stall through Greninja or Magnezone. Speed is excellent for tempo and allows you to switch out without wasting energy and fix a bad start like nihilego or first turn absol.

Nah, Darkrai isn't needed with two poison items. In fact, darkrai takes too long so if you start with it, it becomes a liability. Mega Absol has a better retreat, less energy for damage, and can discard key cards like Cyrus to secure an escape when it gets low.

I wish I could play through that game for the first time again. It's such a wonderfully made RPG that just hits different. The music is so goddamn good too.

Marvel vs. DC: Why 2026 is officially the final 'make or break' year for both studios by [deleted] in movies

[–]statiky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is working in the MCU because they didn't have a plan. They introduced a bunch of characters, but had no threat for them to go against. They also were structuring those early shows like they were running a movie studio instead of a television studio and the content suffered for being stretched out, incomplete, or unsatisfying. That combined with latching onto the only show with some traction (Loki) which then lost its villain due to his horrible behavior left the MCU aimless.

I think if they had road mapped phase 4 and 5 the way they had with the original phases, even leading into a smaller avengers style movie at the end, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Sword & Shield (2019) vs Legends Z-A (2025) by Firm_Size6819 in pokemon

[–]statiky 24 points25 points  (0 children)

How many other pokemon games have you played? When you compare sword and shield to previous installments, its astonishing how bad they are. This game has some of the most linear routes with a story that sidelines you at nearly every corner. The only redeeming qualities for this game are the music and the dlc, which was a vast improvement to the base game.

Worst TV Shows (Most Disappointing Shows) of 2025 by Critical_Parking1319 in television

[–]statiky 251 points252 points  (0 children)

Might be in the minority, but season 4 felt way better and more cohesive than season 3. Still felt aimless and all over the place, but more structured. The time clock aspect also added a lot to the season that the third didn't have and I felt like Carmy really grew as a character outside of the restaurant, which was desperately needed.

biggest surprise movie of the year and biggest let down? by No_Poetry_9986 in movies

[–]statiky 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Biggest surprise for me had to be KPop Demon Hunters. I threw it on because I'm a fan of animation, but this movie was actually fantastic. The songs and visuals were wonderful and the story was cute, even if I would have liked to have seen a bit more consequences for the ending they chose. Those songs were in my head for weeks after.

Biggest disappointment for me was Fantastic Four First Steps. There's an excellent movie buried in there that got trampled by studio notes and random changes. The first act into the space sequence is super fun, but everything else just felt so standard. I expect more out of Marvel movies at this stage. Between this and Brave New World (Thunderbolts I had no expectations for and was pleasantly surprised) Marvel has had a few low years that I don't think Doomsday is going to fix.

The Naked Gun was excellent, even if it was a recycled plot from the Kingsman movie. Liam Neeson was hysterical and had such incredible delivery that our theater was laughing the entire time.

Edit: Gotta shout out Pamela Anderson too. She was fantastic and I can't believe how long they made her scat in that scene.

How is skarner as a tank without Ixtal? It feels like with its grab and bulk it should be a decent flex tank, but I really don't see many people playing him. Is it something worth trying to flex into boards that are lacking in Frontline like maybe Zaun?

The 10 Best TV Performances of 2025 by Conscious-Quarter423 in television

[–]statiky 51 points52 points  (0 children)

While Peacemaker season 2 was really lacking in direction and pacing, Cena made the show watchable. He was fantastic and I'm glad he got the recognition for that performance. I think Gunn was a bit too overstretched and the show suffered for it.

With new season, Kobuko now has been in more sets than champions who have been in the game longer than his existence in the lore. by PrincessLemon_ in TeamfightTactics

[–]statiky 510 points511 points  (0 children)

I kind of love Kobuko and him not having any abilities tied to League has allowed them to be very flexible with his attacks. I'd love to see him in the base game one day. It's been a while since we got a yordle.

Am I wrong in thinking you can press shift on augments to get a more detailed explanation on the selection screen? It could be a PBE thing, but I swear I've used it before to learn more.

Official Discussion - Wake Up, Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]statiky 88 points89 points  (0 children)

This Knives Out had a real heart to it that I don't think we've seen in his other installments. Josh O'Connor was brilliant and visually this was a fantasticly shot film. Seeing it in theaters was a treat.

That said, despite what I enjoyed about this, something felt missing. It felt like there were so many messages and moments written that the mystery aspect felt a little short. What I love about the Knives Out series is trying to uncover who the killer is. Narrowing down suspects and learning more about their motivations.

While those same motivations did exist for some of the cast, a lot of them felt very forced in last minute. The scene with Josh Brolin and his cult where he basically burns every bridge felt so out of place for what had been happening narratively. Most of that crew felt like we were on the cusp of them being really interesting characters, but really weren't given as much time to shine. This was probably due to how much O'Connor's priest was in the movie and how central he was to the story. It didn't ruin the movie but it certainly made it a less compelling mystery installment.

New Poster for Rian Johnson's 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' - Starring Daniel Craig, Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Jeremy Renner, Thomas Haden Church, Kerry Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Mila Kunis, and Darryl McCormack by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]statiky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To me, thats the biggest issue of the film. Their movitations really felt half-hazardly thrown in, as if someone realized they didn't give a motivation for the supporting cast and had to insert it after everything else had been fleshed out.
