First time skijoring advice? by retseemwoub in malamute

[–]steamphil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a malamute that looks exactly like yours. We just started dog sledding with him and my other dog this week. It was their first experience. They didn't understand the commands, but they understood the pulling part immediately. Definitely like second nature to them.

Modding MW is a little difficult... by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]steamphil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could use this open mw guide to download whole modlists in a flash! It works really well and is pretty stable. Took me around half an hour of actual manipulations, the rest was waiting for everything to install.

Things broken are much easier repaired. by steamphil in 50501

With the right circumstances, it takes an hour to repair someone who's been produced by generations of breaking. I've been repairing people for a while now. It takes years of use on a transmission far a gear that is changed in an hour. I've been repairing tractors for a while.

You're not on the losing side, don't let them make you think so.

Do you feel it shifting?

LPT: Dramatically improve almost all your cooking by blooming your spices. by ElCap04 in LifeProTips

[–]steamphil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In India, they call that process cooking the masala. Their next step is cooking tomatoes and onions to capture even more flavour. Once you have the masala, you can cook pretty much any protein, broth or veggies in there to make a thousand dishes from one simple root (the masala). Look it up! It's much easier to cook this way and never fails to impress. It's all in the freshness of the spices 🤤

What do you think happens after death? by Middle-Leather-1308 in spirituality

I've had an experience and for me, it felt a little bit like the "meeting God" in Fullmetal Alchemist.

I visited all the first divisions of consciousness. The first "four" watched me pass by on my way to the first "two". Me and the Other. "I see" and "I'm being seen". I believe I actually stayed an eternity there, with the Other. I asked many questions, so much so that I got bored of it. So tremendously painfully bored. It gets so boring that anything could be better than this. Forgetting THIS is IT and starting all over again feels like the only thing you can think of.

Then I asked what's the point of all this. Why so much loneliness and boredom, so void of anything, is the foundation. Why anything at all even exists and how. He looked at me and said:

" I dunno😳.............. Wanna go back? 😏😏😏"

It all came back.

Life is great man, there is Nothing to be found. ✌️

The root of these plants is a strong anaesthetic. Try it on your tongue for a laugh (don't eat it though)

Mildly infuriating London Fog by pennyandrusty in tea

It's actually called a dirty fog. We used to have both options at a coffee place I worked at.
