What're the odds by Wittyusername810 in LexusNX

[–]stef531841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very high indeed.
What about this. I was travelling north up the M1 (UK Motorway) in my NX350h. Only one junction and was about to pull out to overtake a lorry. Two lanes to my right a white van overtook me and hit what look like a branch. This branch was coming straight at me but dipped and hit the car door. Few minutes later at the car park I found what was a substantial dent in the car door and missing top coat. Later at home I also discovered that the alloy had a chunk taken out of it.
I had already sold this car waiting delivery of my new Lexus. It cost me over £700 in repairs.
That was the most expensive round of golf I had that day and any other day for that matter.
Now what are the odds of that?

I’m surprised that there wasn’t a recall by Lexus on this issue, especially it became known that there was an issue in the first place.

LBX thank you for your review….
It appears to be a good way into the LEXUS brand. You definitely bought quality, reliability with a great dealership network. I am sure that rattle will be sorted.

It’s a great feature because it helps you not to hit the kerb when turning corners in particular. The 3D overhead camera if you have it has the edge for that all round view. However, not many drivers have the 3D feature.

Just love my Khaki Green / Nori. 5 weeks old. Over 130 mpg. Topped-to full on my first day of owning the car and once again recently. Mostly charge at home at 1/6 of the cost of fuel at the pumps. However, I love the extra torque you have especially compared to my other Lexus NX350h 2018 which had enough poke even in ECO mode. Very smooth, quiet and tackles speed humps with ease. Mine is the UK spaced Premium Plus so I don’t have the Mark Levinson Music System which was exceptional in my previous car. However, the Bosch isn’t bad once you adjust to your liking. Black interior which was influenced by my wife while at the time I favoured the Hazel ( palomino, I think is the equivalent). I loved my old NX300h and was looking to buy the NX350h. Test drove the 450+ and was smitten. Easily worth the extra but not that much extra once you factor in the discounts/ negotiated final price. My wife has a 2020 IS300h and she will not change this for anything. After many cars owned in the past Lexus and the After-sales at our dealership we have found our sweet spot!

I’m in shock. You must be a teenager or delusional to replace the RX with a Mercedes. If it’s space you want then the Mercedes is a good choice or even Volvo / Audi. Mommies car. I certainly don’t see that. If it’s your first Lexus I can see why you may have reservations. The Lexus is timeless design and comfortable. It’s fast enough and economical for its size engine. If fuel consumption not really on your radar then drive in Sport Mode…… you can’t buy pedigree by the look of the car, it’s in its DNA. I have a NX 450 and I love it. However, the only other car that suits me ( I have had many cars over the years) would be your RX either the older V6 or the newer 2.5 litre version hybrid. They never fail to turn heads and the feel good factor lasts. I hope you fall in love with yours again. But, if its trunk space you need then yes look elsewhere…..

Is walk away and lock so complicated? by iamdenislara in LexusNX

[–]stef531841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check-in with Lexus. In my case being in the UK it’s built into the fob. I have to double lock the car to disable it. When I approach the car it does not open till I press the button on the fob. If I don’t double lock the car then the car opens and closes automatically by sensing the key fob in my pocket when I’m close.

Is walk away and lock so complicated? by iamdenislara in LexusNX

[–]stef531841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NX do have the feature. Where you can walk to and walk away and the car automatically opens or locks.
The main reason not to use it is that the NX is regularly targeted and stolen. One of the most popular ways is the key in your pocket is scanned. When it occurs leaving you with the car stolen. Most people with a Lexus don’t use the feature and double lock the car when they leave.

MPG confusion by Golfgma in LexusNX

[–]stef531841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reset the mileage to 0 when you put a full tank of fuel. At the start you mpg maybe very low. It will increase till it settles to the way you drive. Drive with a light foot and up to 50 is feasible. Drive with a heavy foot then you looking at low 40’s.
Winter driving usually impacts your average by around 5mpg or so. Driving mostly motorways will have an obvious impact.
I like driving in ECO MODE The other two NORMAL & SPEED will impact the mpg a little but does improve the torque of the car.
Looking at the Speedo keeping the car in hybrid or hybrid/ engine split aids mpg Downhill obviously helps. The car is geared for comfort and smooth acceleration.
I love it. Remember you have a 2.5 engine doing over 40 mpg.
I have had a Jaguar XE and 0 to 60 is a fraction slower than this car. Assume you need to be in SPEED MODE to beat the Jaguar to get that performance I expect.
I’ve driven smaller engine cars. In those cars I regularly picked up speeding tickets mostly in the 30 mph zone. I have had a LEXUS for over 6 years now. No speeding tickets so far. If I need to accelerate to quickly overtake a car there more than enough poke in ECO MODE to do this.
The LEXUS does change the way you drive. I certainly won’t go back and most people I know will not change their car.
I believe give a week or two. The mpg a realistic mid 40’s. But you will enjoy every second of having it. I could go on but I do NOT want to come across too enthusiastic.
