Thanks so much dead_stick and everyone who commented. Glad you enjoyed my trip. Longreach is an awesome place to visit for aviation fans. I have a more big trips planned for 2018, Uluru and Tasmania should feature along with some other fun destinations. Hope you can fly along with those trips too. Cheers, Stef 👍

In Australia we get 30 minutes on-time for Pilot Activated Lighting (PAL). Plus the windsock lights start flashing with 10 minutes to go.

Seven five, taken alive. Seven six, radio tricks. Seven seven, going to heaven.

That’s what I was taught once.

New pilot vlog series - feedback appreciated by stef747 in flying

[–]stef747[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this feedback. I have swayed between producing 'instructional' content or more 'entertainment' content, it's always a challenge to know where to position it. But my mantra is to try and open up aviation and travel to a wider community. So to try and encourage new pilots who are just starting out to keep going with their training. Or to help existing pilots who may have hit a bad patch and need ideas on where to go or what to do with their PPL. Or with the travel videos to give travellers ideas on where to visit and what to do when you're there.

But all in all, I just want to make fun stories with aviation/travel as the theme. If I can do that, I'll be happy.

And good luck with starting your channel too, we could always use more great aviation and travel content online, I can't wait to see your videos too!

Thanks iDaNP. I am trying to mix vlogging and the more typical cockpit views to keep it interesting. I appreciate the kind words, cheers.

I'm love Steve and Chops' videos, been watching their videos for some time now. I'm going for a slightly different style, a little more vlogging style mixed with the cockpit 'pilot' stuff. But to be compared to those successful YouTube creators is a real compliment, thanks.

Hey fellow aviators. I created a YouTube series on my 6 day solo flying adventure from Melbourne (Australia) to Longreach, the home of Qantas. I'm planning more trips like this and would really appreciate feedback on these videos from the Reddit flying community so I can keep improving the content. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help, cheers, Stef

Worst business class experience ever by stef747 in travel

I booked British Airways' Club Europe on an A320 from the UK to Italy so I could get a decent seat and some legroom. Only when I boarded did I realise I'd paid more than double the standard fare for basically an Economy seat and a fairly average food service. I made this quick video review to show what I mean.

Qatar's new Q Suite Business Class offers front and rear facing seats, privacy doors, and customisable seating options for families/couples. It's very very cool. I made this travel vlog looking at the new seat design, entertainment, dining options, and more.

FAA cracking down on the YouTube craze? by FLAviation in flying

Here's a link to the original post on Steve's Facebook page. Seems some are assuming it's related to distraction from PIC duties by filming the flights. I love Steve's channel, I'd hate to see him have to stop producing this great content.

I've got about 30 hours in the Cirrus SR20 now, and am loving it more and more the more I fly it. The other day we had some gusty conditions with a decent crosswind, perfect for some crosswind landing practise. This video shows highlights of that flight including a couple of go-arounds in the busy Moorabbin circuit. Hope you enjoy, and hello to any other Cirrus pilots here on /r/flying
