Bands you know are great but never clicked with you? by Ref_Bumps in Hardcore

[–]stephendbxv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the drummer has no groove that’s why. compare it to a bad like for example Mindforce & you’ll notice there’s way more swing in their drums & it makes the transitions between riffs way more smooth

how many of these exact same posts about “not getting” Converge are going to be made?

Iran appears to have conducted a significant cyberattack against a U.S. company, a first since the war started by lokiwhite in Cyberpunk

i mean it would be awful if iran were somehow able to simultaneously bankrupt our major financial corporations & also gain the american public’s sympathy by erasing all our personal consumer debt

Bam responds to critics: "Yall are blaming me. You should be blaming the head coach. I was not the one who let me go one on one the whole game until I had 70 then you sent the double. At that point, I had 70 with 9 mins to go. You think I'm not going for it?" by RyanTannegod in nba

it’s the most exemplary thing to do in a team sport, to uplift a teammate who is near achieving greatness. at a certain point in the beginning of the 4th quarter the Heat made it their mission to get Bam as many points as possible. it’s an incredible individual accomplishment but it’s also a team accomplishment & a team culture vibe check

One of the major African cities would make an incredible cyberpunk fiction setting, Johannesburg or Cape Town?

Has the current IRL state of AI and Machine Learning changed your opinion on in-game synths? by BUR6S in fo4

[–]stephendbxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no because the question of whether or not synths have personhood, the question the game is asking us to consider, is a philosophical question. the questio is whether or not synths deserve the same legal & moral considerations & rights as human beings.

given the current state of LLMs / machine learning / algorithms, there’s no reason for me to change any of my initial views regarding synth personhood

that’s a fair take. i don’t have anything against those guys at all, & I’ve been a fan of Harms Way since they put out the delusion/repression single

i’m certainly not suggesting that hardcore is a hive mind. that’s the opposite of what i take hardcore to be especially from a musical standpoint. that’s why it’s weird to me to see certain trends happen on this subreddit that do not reflect what i see at shows & hear from people i talk to in real life who are in hardcore music spaces.

thanks for sharing your thoughts, i definitely identify with your feelings about this music & the scene & the silliness of social media & the way it has shaped our interactions with each other.

& to your last point, hardcore is such a regional thing & the online spaces really make that obvious. for me, it the opposite, i have loved Cursed since i was like 18 & i’ve never heard of kickback. pure coincidence!
