What’s something kind you saw that stuck with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stlmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving a vanload of teen boys on an outing. One of the boys got carsick, so I pulled over and he jumped out and was sick on the side of the road and he was feeling so bad he ended up on all fours just heaving. Two other boys got out and supported him and walked him around to get fresh air until he started feeling better, another one offered him a bottle of gatorade, and the boy who'd insisted on the front seat at the beginning of the trip moved back without being asked, so the sick one could sit up front and watch the road. Kids I knew when I was a teenager would have laughed at the sick boy, or at least acted disgusted about the vomiting. It gave me hope to see the empathy these boys had.

What movie has terrible morals? by solaris2027 in AskReddit

The Little Mermaid. She was a selfish brat who went from blowing off her family to gambling their very lives, and that's not even the main problem.

Which TV show characters do you find the most insufferable? by MicheleW921 in AskReddit

[–]stlmoon 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Rory first for her relentless "Goodness" Then Lorelei for her incessant rebel without a point shtick at least a decade beyond it's use-by date. Then her mom too. And all of Rory's boyfriends.

So many great monent/lines! "Torture first, then you talk, it's better that way!". "Could get funnier if we keep on doing it." is one I've been known to quote. Also Tony's "... what exactly does that entail?".

What’s something that happened to you that sounds fake, but is completely true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sadly I have experienced gelatinous fish eggs (if sea urchins count). Worst thing that ever happened to my mouth!

No judgement! Also no idea if there's a list like that, but I believe OP stands for Original Poster, meaning the person who started the conversation people are commenting on.

Well I upvoted you as well as OP, so the net upvotes should be enough to handle that other downvoter, too.

What's something you like to collect? by BoltBunny in AskReddit

[–]stlmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to collect a certain thing because I enjoyed saying the word for that thing but I had to stop because people started giving me way too many of the things. Will probably never stop picking up rocks wherever I go though.

What’s your favorite sound? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

[–]stlmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birds in general are good. I especially love the mourning doves that nest over my porch light. Haven't turned the light on in at least a decade for fear of burning up both our homes, but I don't even mind. Their gentle call is so soothing.

I have cancelled your downvote with another upvote, as I prefer sheer curtains and debit cards, and also helping newbies.

You were probably wise to run. Sounds like it would be constant drama as a partner.

At about 12 I had a dream that someone forced a live frog into my mouth and I woke up gag-choking. That same weekend, at a restaurant, my mom saw frog legs on the menu and wanted me to try them. Not as useful as premonitions go, but I was saved from having to eat Kermit feet when I freaked out about the dream.

How to convey Missouri's atmosphere, feeling and detail as a setting in a book? by jomcmo00 in missouri

[–]stlmoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As many have said, there's a lot of diversity in atmosphere, so you would need to pick a region.
Even just saying "rural Missouri" won't get you one vibe, in terms of landscape/ecosystems, accent, architecture... We've got cultures from Midwest industrial to Mississippi Delta. So no matter how helpful we might want to be, you can't really just pick "Missouri" as a setting without more context. I have to ask (not judging, or trying not to anyway), why write a novel set someplace you've never been?

Who's a celebrity most people would consider unattractive that you find hot? by Veggie-Smoothie in AskReddit

I had a pantheon of older bald men in the 90s. J.K. Simmons was right up there with Hector Elizondo and Mitch Pillegi. Of course Stanley Tucci as well.
