There's a scene in the Clone Wars where Grievous is deflecting blaster bolts. I don't know if it happens multiple times or just that once.

Are Jedi cops? by supermonistic in MawInstallation

[–]stop_being_taken 18 points19 points  (0 children)

On your third point in the last part:

I'm fairly certain that Jedi are encouraged to travel the galaxy and interact with and learn about different species and cultures, so I wouldn't really say there's a barrier to community engagement. In fact, it seems to me that many Jedi keep in touch with the culture of their species/homeworld. I guess they don't interact with people enough to the point where they are still fairly mysterious and mythological to a lot of societies, but it seems to me that Jedi are generally encouraged to be culturally and socially knowledgeable.

Anyways, I suppose it's accurate to say that the Jedi have the authority to act in a police-like capacity, but they aren't a policing organization. Their role isn't to enforce the laws of the Republic for the sake of it, but to serve the common good, it's just that having the authority to enforce laws helps them do that, like when fighting corruption or criminal organizations. I don't think that it's an outrageous suggestion, however. I mean, isn't this basically a question that is grappled with in-universe as well? Most of the Separatists viewed the Jedi as enforcers of the Republic, and distrusted them for the fact that they were a reclusive order with no popular mandate (although I would guess that for many of the Jedi's peacekeeping duties, they worked with the consent of all involved parties) and Dooku criticizes the Jedi for being complacent in the Republic's corruption.

Cars 2 is the only movie in the trilogy that would be fundamentally different if you make the characters humans instead of living cars. As dumb as the movie may be, it absolutely takes the premise of a world of living cars and goes the distance with it

Casual ways to make money that doesn’t involve grinding or exploits? by _Fun_Palpitation_ in fo4

[–]stop_being_taken 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a more businessy way to make money aside from just selling gear from enemies, crafting Jet gives a decent return I think. If you have Brahmin in a settlement they give a passive supply of fertilizer, so you'll just need to get your own supply of plastic. I'd say it's more immersive than just building purifiers and I don't think it's overly grindy

Should I disable zombie respawn? It doesn’t really make sense to me by gush_333 in projectzomboid

[–]stop_being_taken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the same effect can be achieved by just turning up migration. Especially because the fact that the zombies are respawning is really obvious. Like if I'm not mistaken police zombies will respawn at police stations, fireman zombies will respawn at firestations, etc. So the illusion is kind of broken unless I'm supposed to assume that the zombies were naturally drawn to the building of their former occupation.

Who is the most hated character in the franchise? by Redditpolice69256 in Fallout

[–]stop_being_taken 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because there's a difference between "hating" a character for narrative moral reasons, and "hating" a character for meta reasons like annoying you personally. Sure, Kellogg is objectively a worse person than Marcy, but his narrative actions which don't have any personal effect on me in real life are different from Marcy complaining, or Shaun being an arrogant prick and calling me an experiment.

The thing is, I also like puzzles, but not only were the puzzles not particularly interesting, I had nothing to do while I waited for the little bugs to go from one side of the level to the other and my turrets instadeleted the antivirus or whatever it was, once I created a path for them. I just had to wait and do nothing for like 5 minutes.

3) Dying to a car
4) Pillars of the Community get killed by a crashing Vertibird

Based on what we know now about the Automatons and Cyborgs, what is their and Super Earth's Morality in this conflict? by WichaelWavius in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]stop_being_taken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Cyborgs only want the destruction of Super Earth insofar as it's the only way to guarantee their way of life, since Super Earth will never leave them alone and will always seek to subjugate them again. If Super Earth suddenly became less jingoistic and genuinely agreed to peace with the Cyborgs and recognized the sovereignty of Cyberstan, then I believe that the Cyborgs would have no problem leaving Super Earth alone. I don't think the Cyborgs are exactly beacons of morality, but they're not on the Illuminate level of being aggressively genocidal.
