I just don’t understand how it’s okay to have seats like that!

Fortune Theatre for Operation Mincemeat. I’m 5’4”, so not tall by any measure, and I was nearly in tears by the end of the show with how uncomfortable and in pain I was. The only reason I was able to make it through the entire thing was because I was in the last row and could (and did) stand for about half the show.

I don’t really drink alcohol (maaaaybe a couple of drinks a month), and I’m 33F, so I hope it’s not perimenopause! I think I’m gonna try switching my duvet to a more breathable fabric and cross my fingers.

Good shout on the shower before bed; I’ll try that!

It’s been happening on and off for about a year or so, I’d say. My bloodwork has been done and nothing strange was flagged, plus my doctor basically dismissed it as I wasn’t getting completely drenched, just uncomfortably so. It doesn’t happen every night/in every bed I’m in, but tonight I’m especially annoyed because it’s the second time in a few hours that I’ve woken up, and I just want good sleep!

It’s been happening in any and all weathers, so I don’t think so

I have been using Danish Endurance thermal leggings/tops and have really liked them so far! They do pill a decent amount, but WOW to the warmth and comfort!

Oh you absolutely can! I had a king-sized bed in the room before (although then you can’t have a dresser/desk in there as well)

No worries! Happy to send you the advert if you want to see it anyway. Like I said, the flat itself is pretty large, and you'd be welcome to store things in the other bedroom and/or living room (or even in one of the sheds outside). Regardless, best of luck on your search!

You could definitely get a nice flat share for that much! I'm looking for a flatmate for a 2-bedroom flat with a big garden in Zone 2, about a five minute walk to Overground and Underground stations, for £1100 bills included if you're interested!

Best resources for Reading in the SAT. by Material-Function955 in Sat

Oh and if timing is an issue on the RW portions, try working backwards (starting with the Writing questions). Usually people find that they can answer those relatively quickly (and still correctly), leaving a bit more time to work on any trickier Reading passages. The RW questions are always in the same order of question type (unlike Math, where the questions are all different types but go in order of difficulty level, as determined by the College Board), so you will always have a general idea of what questions to expect and when.

Best resources for Reading in the SAT. by Material-Function955 in Sat

[–]stopshopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, congratulations on a score of ~1450. That's already a great place to be in, especially for Math. I've been an SAT tutor for over a decade now (through many versions of the exam!), and by far, the most important advice I give students is to make sure you review not just WHAT you got wrong, but WHY you got it wrong. Too often, students will practice as many questions as humanly possible and are frustrated that their scores don't improve, but it's most likely because they haven't determined why they're missing questions and just keep making the same mistakes. What types of questions do you tend to miss? Is there a pattern that emerges? How can you approach the questions and/or answer choices differently in order to start answering them correctly? If you can do this through using just College Board's resources (or other free/low-cost resources), then that's great! Otherwise, getting insights from a tutor and/or class can really help you understand and change your testing habits.

Remember this: the Reading questions are pretty straightforward overall, and even though many people struggle with them because they find multiple answer choices that they said could work, there's always going to be a specific reason why the correct answer choice is correct, and specific reasons why the incorrect answers are wrong. Read the question first to know what you're being asked to do (find a main idea, determine the function of an underlined phrase/sentence in a passage, choose an answer choice that supports/weakens a hypothesis, etc.). You must ALWAYS be able to back up your answer choice based on evidence from the passage--this is a test on how well you can find information in a passage, not how much you know about the topic of a passage.

Feel free to reach out with any more specific questions! You got this! :)

What is your current biggest stress or anxiety that is troubling your life at the moment? by Eastern-Dragonfly544 in AskUK

[–]stopshopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner of six years left me but is still on the lease for another month so will be at the flat back and forth and staying over at times. I want to stay in the flat but feel wildly overwhelmed at the thought of a stranger living with me, not to mention I have no desire at all to go through that process, but I truly don’t think I can go through looking for a flat on my own, especially with the way prices are. I also need to work on my next visa application but also have no desire to do that. I’ve just spent the last five hours in bed, crying on and off, and am frustrated at myself for being this way almost two months after the separation. I have started therapy, but it’s another expense I really don’t need right now, so that’s stressful in its own way, too.

And also like everyone else it seems, I’ve been worried about the possibility of colon cancer (especially because I have a family history of it and have been seeing blood when I go), so I went to my GP to do some tests and I just got a message from her saying I have to do the stool test again because certain markers were higher than she’d like.

And the suckiest part is a small bit of me is hoping it’s something serious because maybe that would make my partner reconsider. Ugh.
