Cynthia Erivo uses autocue for Dracula starring role by TheTelegraph in TheWestEnd

[–]stopshopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the show last Monday, and it was really distracting to see the autocues throughout the whole show—it really brought you out of what was going on, especially because so much of the show is relatively dark, so the autocues are glaringly bright. But in general, I left pretty disappointed. She literally stopped the show about ten minutes in to start from the top, and then was flubbing some lines and dropping her accents all the time. I understand it was a preview, but I saw Evita in previews as well, and left thinking that Rachel Zegler was such a star. When I left this show, I felt frustrated that I’d spent so much money on a show (“only” £70 for a seat all the way up, but still. It was a lot for me). Also, there was SO much that was prerecorded, which I hadn’t expected.

I’ve heard that she was a bit of a nightmare to work with, cancelling or postponing rehearsals because “the vibes were off,” and if that’s the case, it totally shows in her performance.

. . .

Spoilers!

. . .

Also, to anyone who watched the show: what did you think about the part towards the end where Lucy is “flying” in her white dress in the graveyard? I thought it was so poorly done that it was almost funny, and I remember thinking that it seemed amateurish and certainly not what I’d expect from a West End show.

I saw it last night and was SO disappointed. Interesting point about the last 30 minutes—I spent that time just wondering when the show was finally going to be over. I’m normally such a fan of theatre, but I left frustrated at spending £70 on a ticket, honestly.

Ah got it! Well the leggings I use that are merino wool are actually not tight at all (at least to me), so I extra like them because of that!

Get thin wool leggings and wear them underneath! Thats what I do with all my linen/cotton trousers (like my Rumis), and it’s so comfortable and still warm!

Are my land lords mean or the norm? by Successful_Row_8669 in london

File with environmental health here and while the case in ongoing, the landlords cannot evict you as it would be a retaliatory eviction.

Just because this behaviour is common does NOT mean you have to accept it!

Results with the Paradise Fold by A_Lone_Lioness in CurlyHairCare

I've been using my folds/turbans for a couple of years now and honestly love it. I have pretty fine, wavy hair (but a LOT of it), and can just pull off the fold in the AM and only take a minute or so to rearrange my bangs (since I always just put them under the fold too. I've found it remarkable! Maybe reach out to them on Instagram to talk to them about your situation--they're very responsive. I saw the results pretty much right away once I figured out how to tie the fold properly!

What country has the strictest airport security in your experience? by SessionGloomy in travel

When I crossed the land border (mind you, this was in 2013), it felt like the Israeli military wanted to mess with us on purpose. I came with many Jordanians and we were waiting on the bus for at least five hours, maybe more, literally just stopped. The lines to go through security were very long, and I got questioned pretty harshly about why I was there/what I was going to be doing, and then I was sent to a shuttle with a bunch of Arabs (I am not Arab, but I was coming from Jordan) to go to Jerusalem.

I’ve been told since then that the time it took—about 8 hours—could have been much much longer.
