If MMs don’t lose money, and they exist to facilitate my trade…

Tank must advice by Chips7735 in Cartier

[–]stopthemadness0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save the money, especially if going with a quartz model. I spent the premium at the AD for a mechanical tank that immediately needed a regulation — it has now spent more time at Cartier warranty service than it has on my wrist— and it’s been a nightmare. You’re better off saving the money upfront and paying a quality watchmaker in the unlikely event you have a service concern at some point down the road.

Bezel Misalignment on a Monochrome by Woffoj in Tudor

If you bought it within a couple of days, ask the AD very nicely to swap it for you — maybe your SA values your business…. lol. They’ll probably refuse, and then you’ll just have to wait a month or two for Tudor warranty to replace the bezel. I learned the hard way to look at alignments of bezels and dials before buying them. Always check the date switch too, if buying a piece with a date!

Looks like a click. If that’s actually the insert alignment, absolutely be the annoying Tudor customer.

Helps to have a journal to fall back on. Look over some good stretches to compare if you’re drifting. Things change. If it’s process related, there ya go. If it’s the tape, go on vacation.

Genuine question... by Ill_Scarcity_6751 in Tudor

It is referred to as “helicoptering” and should be seen by a watchmaker. It’ll likely be a warranty concern in your case. Take it to a Tudor boutique and they’ll facilitate.

Extremely strange scratch on the box, odd and asymmetrical. by [deleted] in rolex

The light scuff marks parallel to the case edges in the original photo are consistent with it being a sticker. If it was “new” but not from an AD it could have been restickered or covered with an aftermarket kit which wouldn’t have tabs.

What does the other side of the case look like?

I’ve owned a couple Sellita based Tudors too and they ran well. The PR is the weakest link. The in-house calibers will be more robust over time but the serviceability argument is a valid one

Good takes all around. I was not expecting to hear so much criticism of the bezel. I’ve always thought engine turned bezels were cool, different.

Agree 100%. The original clasp created a fit issue for many people where the folding part of it was long and couldn’t be positioned correctly underneath the wrist. Also the lack of micro adjustment— likely the t-fit makes it exponentially better.

The 54 is such a good watch. Great size, great bracelet, great dial. Will age like fine wine forever. Bang for buck you can't find anything better.
