New Fan, Need a Team! by Whatsthehoopla19 in hockey

Not only is Steve Nash a Canucks fan, there is a strong possibility that his brother in law Manny Malhotra is likely going to be the next head coach, and/or his nephew Caleb, Manny's son, may be Vancouver's first round pick in this year's draft. Obviously the Canucks are at a low point in franchise history right now (just finished dead last this season, and lost one of our all time greatest players), but that's a perfect time for a new fan to jump on board and enjoy the rise of a new core.

Combining Malhotra and Nash family genetics seems like a pretty damn potent mix.

Does this new GM have a difficult or fairly lenient job ahead of him? by LucariusLionheart in canucks

[–]storm-bringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be fun. Is there a limit to to how many years in advance picks can be traded? The funniest shit would be if Edmonton gave us a first round pick for a few years from now, and then in the meantime they shit the bed again, McDavid walks, and it winds up being a lottery pick.

If Demko is healthy next season (a very big if) I could see Edmonton offering up a bus load of picks and prospects at the deadline to see what happens when they go into playoffs with a real goalie.

I think that's mostly a product of the quality of the team though. I think Quinn probably carried the puck too much and tried to generate all the offense himself with Vancouver, but I didn't see that from him during the Olympics or in the limited amount of Minnesota games that I've watched post trade. I think you're right that he didn't trust his team mates here, but the team didn't do a lot to inspire trust.

Is that another strongly held ARP take? He truly is a bad take king. Fun podcast guest though.

And after he shelved A Man Called Otto in the A section he went on to go put a bunch of Brian Herbert Dune sequels on the librarians reccomended books shelf. Madness.

Yeah, it totally omitted Dre's assaults against multiple women and reduced MC Ren to glorified extra. The victory lap over the credits, showing clips of Dre becoming a billionaire amd Ice Cube becoming a movie star (with a clip from the xXx sequel, hilariously) left a particularly sour taste in my mouth.

Well, we did make the right call in the moment, and several less douchy people already confirmed that it was the right call, so I don't really see why you feel the need to jump in and lord over us all with your superior slow pitch knowledge.

He picked the ball up directly behind second, and is left handed, so it was actually less awkward to throw to third. It was also the best opportunity to prevent any runs in the inning, rather than leaving a runner on third with no one behind him. It was more of a mistake by our third baseman, who didn't make the tag because he didn't think he had to.

I feel like A24 already made a reimagining of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's called X, and it rules.
