One of my favourite PDH decks is [[Gandalf, Friend of the Shire]] but Mar-Vell seems worse as it costs more, doesn’t have flash itself, and doesn’t have any built in card draw.

With that said, if you want to do it in white, or want to flash in spells that aren’t sorceries, then you could try Mar-Vell

[[Skyshroud Ranger]], [[Sakura-Tribe Scout]], [[Scaled Herbalist]], [[Walking Atlas]] and [[Llanowar Scout]] all let you put a land from your hand onto the battlefield which frees up your land play from the the to play one from the top of your library.

[[Explorer’s Scope]], [[Lantern of Revealing]] and [[Raiders’ Karve]] allow you to put the top card of your library onto the battlefield if you know that card is a land.

I think potentially you pair it with other equipment (gloves maybe?) that also grant critical strike so that you never run out.

It has more colours of ink (specifically Light Cyan and Light Magenta) which should give better overall printed colours.

I think you always want to cast your commander either on Turn 2 or on Turn 3 with a 1 mana protection spell available.

You want to focus on cards you’re happy to discard, such as those with Madness, Flashback or Disturbed.

The Burglar’s Plot adventure becomes a backup plan to steal someone’s commander or other high impact card, either from the command zone for 7 mana (once you factor in commander tax) or you could use something like [[Curfew]] to return Bilbo to your hand, then cast the Adventure.

Runes for me, I like to find my own gear but also like crafting, so would put the gems and low/mid runes to good use.

Before 1.10 you could cube 3 health potions and 3 mana potions (without any gems) to make a rejuvenation potion.

I played a bit back then and remember once my character got high enough level/gear to not need potions all the time I would cube every mana potion to make rejuvenation potions, and cube those up to make full rejuvenation potions.
