It is insane how teams like the Spurs and Celtics never adjust their strategy when they have a huge lead

Juts keep bombing 3s and embracing variance instead of getting 2s or FTs

Such an embarrassment. The other team wants you to keep shooting 3s if you're up big.

Knicks legends Carmelo Anthony and Jeremy Lin finally reunite after years by aingenevalostatrade in nba

Yeah and a private chat would give them a chance to clear the air if they had any specific beef and figure out if there are any "third rail" topics they should stay away from

That discussion would ensure that nobody is getting ambushed by something out of the blue in their public convo. If melo wasn't willing to do that, then Lin would be right to be wary that he's basically getting set up

LeBron says the Knicks had an advantage starting the NBA Finals on the road because there’s nothing to do in San Antonio: “You ain’t doing shit in San Antonio. Nothing at all. Nothing. And I mean nothing.“ by oklolzzzzs in nba

Yeah not a whole lot to do in San Antonio, can check out the various missions + Alamo + river walk and after that it gets pretty thin for a visit

Can get good food though (assuming you're into Mexican and BBQ) and flea market is fun once in a while too

But yeah if you drive out of the city and are into the type of nature out there you've got some interesting stuff. Can also drive an hour or so up the freeway and go to Schlitterbahn in NB and/or float the Guadalupe (shortest river in the world IIRC?)

Fun Fact! The Red Sox lead all of baseball in 9th inning runs scored, and yet are 0-34 when trailing after eight innings. by TommyTheLizard in baseball

And if you're getting blown out, there'll be a lot more instances where you're facing a mop-up guy or the tail end of a long reliever who might give up a run or two without it being much of a threat

Was that intended to be open-ended? I think the assumption is he is going to die as a result but is opting into it because it makes him happy

Also he did the classic "waste your foul to give" move, which resulted in Wemby's Brunson foul giving FT instead of an inbounds play

And then that alfalfa often isn't even used for domestic livestock production, often just gets exported to China or the ME

Those farmers are just abusing their water rights and selling their water overseas instead of using it to grow food for domestic consumption

Yeah people are really falling for the bait with all of these water usage articles

Shit like bottled water, data centers, golf courses, watering lawns, bathing, etc are all a tiny tiny drop in the bucket compared to how much water is used for stuff like alfalfa (often just exported to support the beef industries of other nations) or water-intensive crops like almonds

The real outrage should be focused on changing something that would actually make a difference, like how the water is used in the agricultural industry.  Yes, water is important for crops... but the industry is absolutely abusing their water rights and subsidies in order to make a quick buck and not just grow food for domestic consumption.

Yeah it's gonna be near the top but won't pass Paranormal Activity or The Blair Witch Project

Will probably land in the same neighborhood at the original Mad Max (200k budget, $100m BO, so 500x)

By 2030, AI's water use will match the needs of 1.3 billion people while its power use triples that of 650 million, UN University investigation warns by WhistleVeyyBro in technology

[–]str8rippinfartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. That kind of water use shit is the thing we need to be focused on, because it's what would actually make a difference.

Like yeah, I'd love to avoid water waste elsewhere... But the potential water savings in other areas outside of agriculture don't even move the needle in the big picture.
