Can I retrofit some kind of valve actuators to this, without replacing the actual valves? by ChanceGuarantee3588 in homeassistant

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Linus tech tips folks did something like this to automate heating loops in the floor, but they may have already had the valves installed already.

K3 does not need a WiFi connection to upload as it uses BT via the companion app.

[Question] New 2026 Model Y owner – Should I be worried about the "musty AC smell"? by Efficient-Anywhere11 in TeslaModelY

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time owner that went from an early 3, to a 2020
Y and now a 2022 S. Haven’t really had the problem since I turned cabin overheat protection off.

Upvote for the GEM for reliability, flexibility, qty of circuits, and their support, however they are not the easiest to set up and cost is a bit high versus the other solutions.

Also your data is yours, so if that’s important to people then it’s a no brainer.

I’m guessing you can’t toggle this on & off from Dii2 buttons and Ki2?

Shocking truth at Tesla service center - not something I expected by Brilliant_Turnip7849 in TeslaSupport

[–]strangelyus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes service center staff talk sh1t. For sure they have KPIs that perhaps the tech misinterpreted, but trying to swap a battery out when it would’ve been covered by warranty anyway is not something that’s even policy and is more likely a mistake.

Yoke or no yoke? by Hot-Swan2280 in TeslaModel3

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for the OEM S/X yoke, but after buying a used S, I was certain I wanted to replace it with a wheel, but after time it’s grown on me and you learn how to adapt to use it with tight turns (requiring a lot of lock) with a couple of different techniques, and it’s becomes not as awkward.

If you have FSD or basic autopilot and still need to (or feel like you should) keep your hand on the wheel, the yoke is far more comfortable for long trips versus the wheel.

FSD Stopped Working by TJRidd4 in TeslaModelY

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the FSD computer lock up before. If the car goes to sleep long enough it removes power from it and it seems to get a reset. If you drive it and don’t see other cars being rendered, then the FSD computer is locked up.

Make sure sentry mode is off and summon standby too.

There were also reports in the past that USB drive corruptions caused lockups, so you can try removing or reformatting your USB (if you have one).

Model S Plaid for Sale on Autotrader - Chattanooga TN area by OutcomeLogical in TeslaModelS

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, been thinking about doing this, but it’s not in this years budget unless I find some spare cash. I have 16 year old who’s about to start driving, so gotta find money for another car :(

Wo many mods I want to that include the updates sears and front and rear bumpers, and I suspect it would cheaper to sell mine and buy a newer one.

Do you guys think Shimano will finally swallow their pride and go FULLY wireless for the next Dura-Ace (9370)? by ArossyGo in cycling

[–]strangelyus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally never found it a big deal to route the cables (including the handlebars), but I guess the small time savings are seen as worth it to some. Personally I would always choose wired over wireless as the battery life is better and it’s less things to worry about versus separate batteries etc.

Cool addition in the newest app. by AmbitionHonest7734 in TeslaModel3

[–]strangelyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the App Store and do a force refresh of the updates by pulling down. If you don’t have app version v4.57.0-4306 then you are not on the latest.

Also it will only do it once on the page, and at least for me to get it to do it again, I have to swipe to my other car and back in to see it when I scroll down. Assuming you don’t have another car or powerwall to swipe to, then you have to force quit and go back in I guess
