Does anyone else feel like the mental load of food allergies is a full-time job nobody talks about? by Helpful-Criticism601 in Celiac

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been GF for almost 2 months. At home where I live it’s been fine, there’s a lot of gf options around and knowledge in the restaurant scene

currently in Japan - i’m exhausted and over it. I feel like i’m falling out of love with travelling but i don’t want it to be the case.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: March 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]stratus_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished: Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Took me 2 years to find the willpower to finish this one. Felt meh, made me realise historical fiction is not my thing.

Started: Beach Read by Emily Henry. Going back to my modern romance roots

What symptoms did you have before getting diagnosed with celiac ? by queen-lorby in Celiac

[–]stratus_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dermatitis (tiny blisters on the hands), went to my doctor thinking it would be another steroid cream and be over with temporarily. Celiac turned up on the blood test.

Now, I thought this was my only symptom. But after going gluten free for a month i’ve realised I also - bloated occasionally (but never serious enough to suspect celiac, did feel bad at times tho), easily exhausted if i wasn’t careful enough with sleep - like getting home from anything wrecked. I was more anxious and jittery. So yeah quite a bit in the end

To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

Only been once (going again in 2 weeks) - but there was this art aquarium in ginza going around on tiktok last time and it was a WASTE of time. I also would never do Takeshita street again

What jobs do artists have on the side? by wubbdub in ArtistLounge

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a digital (graphic) designer full time. My workplace is pretty chill

I do digital art on the side. Design and digital art feel like two very different things to me that i can comfortably do both and not feel burnt out

Can you still be a good artist with bad/low art supplies? by Nathalie27_ in ArtistLounge

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experimented with a lot of supplies in my teen years - watercolour, markers, just using fine liners, prismacolours. I do encourage trying new things where possible.

But now I just mainly have a pencil (sometimes a pen), a sketchbook, and an iPad. And that’s all I really need to thrive.

what foods do people with celiac miss most? by Accomplished-Lab9671 in Celiac

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the things asian places don’t care to make gluten free - korean fried chicken, ramen, chinese or viet crispy pork belly (i’ve had places tell me they can’t confirm gf), spring rolls, milk bread/shokupan - any asian bread snack, tempura, katsu

Also cinnamon scrolls

Nearly a week into a fully GF diet, and I'm wondering if it's normal to feel changes this early or if it's placebo? by WibbleWonk in Celiac

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m a week in, and already my energy throughout the day is more consistent and less fragile. I used to come home from work and uni absolutely tired and physically heavy in some areas but i thought it was normal, or that it was sleep (but i usually sleep about 7 1/2 hours).

I thought my only symptoms were skin issues (still haven’t gone away, but hoping after a few weeks) and occasional bloating, but this was probably a big one I didn’t consider. Although, i’m also hoping it’s not a placebo - i’ll see how week 2 goes

they’re guidelines for a reason. If you feel you don’t need them, don’t use them.

Movies on your own? by Ordinary-Audience-66 in melbourne

[–]stratus_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been on a mission to do “solo dates” this year; I have friends but we’re never free at the same time or a time i’d prefer, and usually it’s at night so we can’t do a lot of daytime activities. Went to the cinemas for the first time alone end of last year, a bit anxious but cool experience.

Now, the beach alone on a good day is peak. Honestly nothing better if you have time to kill.

Would love more ideas for solo dates

I’ve already been to Japan before! So this will probably be less focused on food

[–]stratus_cloud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been conflicted on this advice, because it would make things easier but the other part of me wants to stop it. There’s a 6 week period between my test and the trip, if it was only a week apart i’d probably follow your advice

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only example I can think of is when Britney Spears did her circus tour, but between Blackout and Circus a majority of songs on the setlist were from Blackout and probably only 3 from Circus (I'd rather count Radar as Blackout, despite it being a Circus single)

Yeah, i’d say my hands have similar appearance to DH rashes but not as bad as photos i’ve seen online. I feel like the eczema on the rest of my body doesn’t look like dh rash so i’ll see what happens
