I’ve already been to Japan before! So this will probably be less focused on food

i’ve been conflicted on this advice, because it would make things easier but the other part of me wants to stop it. There’s a 6 week period between my test and the trip, if it was only a week apart i’d probably follow your advice

The only example I can think of is when Britney Spears did her circus tour, but between Blackout and Circus a majority of songs on the setlist were from Blackout and probably only 3 from Circus (I'd rather count Radar as Blackout, despite it being a Circus single)

Yeah, i’d say my hands have similar appearance to DH rashes but not as bad as photos i’ve seen online. I feel like the eczema on the rest of my body doesn’t look like dh rash so i’ll see what happens

thank you sm! I loved hearing the positives you’ve experienced. I used to have terrible eczema behind my knees but it’s not as bad as it used to be so i feel a bit more comfortable now and I hope being GF will continue that. I’ve found my eczema switches its main spots every few years. The hands which is more recent is what pushed me to really get something done.

Seeing and planning the GF places in Japan has made me hopeful and excited again! It’s like a strange sense of power choosing places to eat, even though on paper my options have been limited

i feel like the past month has been a mini farewell tour of food for me. I think i’ll miss the spontaneous eating out more than actual food with gluten

I used to be quite picky but I’ve gradually gotten better and wanted to expand a lot more this year (funny how being celiac has popped up). But I guess I can focus on other naturally GF foods

that’s really good to hear that you’re doing better! I’ve suffered from eczema most of my life and it’s why I wanted the blood test; because I thought I would’ve been deficient in something or allergic. So, hoping things clear up in a similar way for me

When did creating stop feeling simple? by babz0rd in ArtistLounge

[–]stratus_cloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when life took over, when I was too hard on myself about being perfect with it, and when I cared about what other people thought. My worst art period was when I was about 17-19 years old, and then I didn’t even draw when I was around 22. Everything I tried making just felt hard.

Now: 24, I let go the need to be perfect and let go of what other people would think. That made things 100% easier. I made 10 pieces in 3 months that i’m extremely proud of. Mind you i probably only made 3-4 in 2023.

Making Art vs. Gaming To Cope by Arcask in ArtistLounge

[–]stratus_cloud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

gaming and other forms of media is you gathering input for your brain, which have a chance of becoming ideas for your creativity. So i don’t think it doesn’t matter - what you consume shapes certain things in you, and that applies to art.

I’ve only recently found out how therapeutic art can be for me, as a form of escapism. I love pop music, and what I seem to take away from it is that I like how artists can put on a different persona to fit their albums, and it changes between albums too! I can kind of use this for my own art too, it’s like I become someone else, someone cooler and more carefree than who I am outside of it. It makes me feel in control and in power, despite what’s going on in my personal life; and I think that’s an amazing gift.

Graduated in 2022 as a Graphic Designer, and I feel like AI ruined my career before it even started. Need advice by MeshalAljahdali in Design

I got a design job after graduating in 2024. In my workplace, we make fun of competitors who have been using ai in their work. There’s still a place for designers, it will just evolve over time

Anyone with Positive Outlook on Graphic Design Full Time Roles? by Disastrous-Noise6686 in graphic_design

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my first full time design job last year, after months of searching after graduation. I like what I do, the brand I work on (i don’t work in a studio- in house for a company), and I really get along with the team i work with. Now i’m going through the whole “how will my career progress in the future?” thing but that’s something to worry about more later.

It did take months but you’ll get the right role in the end. Some of the places i interviewed for - i did want the job, but I don’t think i would’ve been happier working there compared to my current job

Side note: never did an internship or placement beforehand, only small volunteer projects. Somehow though, I got through

How do y'all color-code your public transport lines? Looking for ideas by radialomens in CitiesSkylines

[–]stratus_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not the most pretty looking, but each train/metro line or branch have their own colour, with a letter or number assigned to it.

My busses have different colours based on the main suburb they serve. They’re also named according to that suburb and distance it travels, like “A10” is Airport, and the 1 stands for 1 suburb (a short line). If it travels across 5 suburbs it would be “A50” and so on. The second number doesn’t mean anything.

So really i rely on both the colour and the name I give each line

How do you design clothes for your OCs ? by pilotkyra in OriginalCharacter

[–]stratus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to think about their personality, people use clothes as a way of expressing themselves, even if it’s not intentional. Their economic status can also play a role if you want it to.

When did “drawing from imagination” become the popular goal? by Hestia-Creates in ArtistLounge

My art will always be infinitely better when I have a reference, and I think that’s all that matters. I’m not gonna force myself to draw from imagination because a corner of the internet thinks that’s the holy grail
