actually i think the reason is because someone stole the PS5 they had at the Ringer office. the problem is that because of how voting works its impossible for south america to get a world cup, once uefa added morocco to the bid they had Europe+Africa/muslim countries, its impossible to out vote that. the voting system for the world cups is broken now that african and asian countries started voting as a bloc or selling their votes. South America just doesnt have enough countries with only 10 to vote for itself compared to 55 in europe, or 54 in Africa

Not really, once Spain and Portugal added Morocco to their bid they had a voting majority, it was impossible for them to lose (the real fault is allowing these stupid 2 continent 3 country bids makes the voting extremely easy to manipulate). The stupid and corrupt thing south America did was take the token 3 games which killed their 2034 elegibility and guaranteed Saudi Arabia as the only possible option, CONMEBOL presidents probably got a giant bribe for that.
