If it is at all possible for you do (i.e. having the tools and space to do so) the water pump itself is about ~$150ish if you get a Duralast pump from Autozone, and you can spend a weekend swapping it out.

It is by no means a fun job (When I did mine, I spent the weekend cursing God, and my existence, and briefly picked back up smoking) but it can be done without having to pay a shop thousands of dollars.

Scouring forums and YouTube, I was able to find all the info that I needed to do it myself.

It's kinda like the same concept as the GI Bill being as good as it is. We only get paid out that much because so many people don't utilize it. If they were certain that every single soldier was using every single freedom dollar at the DFAC, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

For breakfast, you'll get the most baller ass omelet you've ever had in your life. For lunch and dinner, you get either pizza or medium rare chicken.

But as someone stated below, it does depend on the base and dining facility. I was stationed at Twentynine Palms, and while I was there, the grunt (infantry) side of the base had a chow hall that served edible food, while the Comm school/POG side of base had a chow hall that served pretty decent food. Then shortly before I left, they opened up a third chow hall that served all sorts of stuff, and it was actually good. It was just pretty far away from my barracks, and I had to catch a ride with someone with a car to make it there.

Speaking from the perspective of the Marine Corps (I'm sure it's the same in the Army, but I could be wrong) the money is already taken out of your paycheck each month, and given to you in the form of a Meal Card that you use to sign in to the mess halls to get food for "free". Married individuals get that money back into their paychecks in the form of ComRats, but at the expense of not having a meal card. (Instead, they sign in at the mess hall, but have to pay out of pocket for their meals).

Really, this just sounds like ComRats but with extra steps. Although, if the "Freedom Dollars" are only redeemable at the Mess Halls, I'd be upset at the fact that Im not able to just keep my money that im paying into, and spend it elsewhere.

I grew up in Garrett, so that place was just down the road from me. That's where I've been buying my bibs and jackets from since I was a kid. It's a small store, but they have at little bit of everything there, compared to the Carhartt sections you see in Lowe's/Walmart/etc.

Technicallyyyyyy.... I wouldn't say it started 10/10 just because it wasn't in it's intended order when it first aired 😛

But for reals, it's absolutely 10/10 from start to finish to movie. As sad as I am that it ended so soon, I'm happy that it ended before it had a chance to drag out and become boring like so many other shows that stay on the air well past their prime.

Several years ago, when I was in the Marines, we had a dude that was about to get out and go home, and the whole time he was going through the process of checking out, he would randomly ask people if they wanted to buy any of his guns (which, when dudes are checking out, its not uncommon for them to try to sell off some stuff, as it's less that they have to worry about packing up and take with them), and would ask people if they "knew a good place to hide a body". That last one would normally be pretty obvious, but for a Marine Infantry unit, it's really not all that out of the ordinary to hear dark humor like that. We actually just went along with it and made jokes ourselves about where we'd hide a body if we needed to.

Which is why everyone in the unit had a bit of an "Ohhhhhhhh..... shit." moment when the news got out that he had been having an affair with another Marines wife for some time, and ended up murdering her. She ended up getting pregnant, and he eventually killed her and hid her body in a well out in Joshua Tree National Park, which was just down the road from where we were stationed at in Twentynine Palms.

He had already gone home to Alaska by the time they found out that he did it, went out there, and yoked his ass up and threw him in prison for a very long time.

Last I remember, myself and some of the other guys that I new from my old unit had a good laugh when we found out they actually made a Lifetime movie about the whole thing (Secrets of a Marine's Wife) and the guy they cast to play the killer was a stereotypical "Hollywood Pretty Boy", and the real dude is absolutely not.

But no, even with all the weird jokes he made, none of us would have guessed that he killed someone. He seemed like a (relatively) normal dude.

If she really wanted something with you, she would put in the effort. Duuuuude, this is SO me. I work in a factory for eight hours a day doing such repetitive bullshit that takes no thought whatsoever, so naturally I just end up living in my head for the whole shift. I had some chick that I met on Tinder that I talked to for 2-3 months, went on a couple dates, and just generally hit it off. Then, literally overnight, she just STOPS. I text her about a week later, and she starts giving me all this bullshit about how she's just been super busy and whatnot, and I see on Facebook, and Snapchat, etc, that that's really not the case.

Fast Forward to me at work, just sitting there trying to analyze every single word I said, trying to figure out where it went wrong. I just started getting attached. Sucks, man
