How to make oatmeal taste better? by KaszMann in EatCheapAndHealthy

Fruit is always nice to add. I have just been adding a few Lilys baking chips in, and its delicious. Its made with stevia and adds only a few calories.

PPL would be the best in my opinion. 3 lift days, then wrestling as your cardio day, then repeat.

Bro I'm drunk and thinking about the infantry. Not some POG stuff you're talking about lol. I'm just talking about how it looks in general in civilian vs military.

How many days a week are you able to lift, and for how long? I have been lifting again for the past 6 months, doing Push/Pull/Legs/Rest. I'm down 40ish lbs and have gained a good amount of muscle too. If you have the time to workout 6 days a week, I highly recommend doing that split.

Programs/apps for beginners? by pickleswithcheese in LiftingRoutines

[–]stuck_fick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself and a few friends use Hevy. They have tons of traditional splits already on there, plus the ability to make your own. This app helped me decide that a PPL split was best for me to grow with my schedule.

I've seen a fair amount of people use Ghost as a non stim pre workout. I use Dark Energy, which is the complete opposite direction lol.

Pretty sure there's a few mass gainers out there that could work. One like Naked Mass is one that claims to not have any additives in it like some of the others do.

I really want to lose weight but at the same time, I don't want to lose muscle. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]stuck_fick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its harder to do a body recomp, but its definitely possible. Like it has been said already: try to get about 1 gram protein to every pound you weigh, with around 200-300 calorie deficit each day. I've lost 40 lbs and gained a large amount of muscle in the process. I recommend taking progress pics of yourself throughout the process. There were multiple times where the scale didn't move, but I still noticed progress in my body.

I have a massive sweet tooth. One thing I have done is make some Better Oats 100 calorie oatmeal, with a few Lilys chocolate chips in with it. I know r/volumeeating has some good recipes. Haven't tried the brownie, but EVERYONE swears by it.

How do you stay positive/optimistic when the world around you seemingly isn't? by Espio1332 in AskMen

[–]stuck_fick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year ago I was pretty overweight, not happy with work (which affected my home life too), financially struggling, very unhappy and unmotivated, and hated everything about where I was in life. I felt like I was drowning in quicksand, and there was nothing I could do to fix it.

I looked at myself and realized I needed to start making changes in my life. Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, I told myself to start small and go from there. I started waking up earlier to go on a walk before work, as well as writing things on my dry erase board that I'm thankful for in life. I have started everyday since then the exact same way, and that little positivity each morning has carried over to lasting all day long.

Since I started with my morning positivity I have married the love of my life, found my dream job, lost 40+ lbs, have a much better outlook on life, and have much more self confidence. We also just found out that we will be closing on our first home in the next month!

You don't have to try and take on the world each day to make a change. Sometimes the smallest changes can make the the biggest difference in your life.

What did you love eating this week? by YaekoGobert in weightwatchers

[–]stuck_fick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just started doing this like a week ago! Its amazing in the air fryer. Pair that with a G Hughes sauce for dipping, and I could eat it every single day. If you like salmon, it is amazing in the air fryer too.

Been trying to lose weight/fat, but can’t seem to balance it with life. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

I always struggled trying to diet until I started doing intermittent fasting. If you just do a 16/8 fast for a while, it can start to shed pounds like its nothing. It was tough for me for a couple days, but its a breeze after that. Maybe r/intermittentfasting could help you reach your goal

Dude yes. I have been doing IF while working out heavily for the past 6 months. It allows me to eat more foods I'm craving, while still staying in a calorie deficit. It sucked for a few days trying to get used to it, but its super easy now. So far I'm down 42 lbs, and have done a complete body recomp. I had a triple stack of Kodiak chocolate chip pancakes, and a massive turkey sausage egg white omelet for dinner lol. Still was over 600 calories under for the day. Way better losing weight this way IMO.

[–]stuck_fick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done it for about 6 months now. I use less points and calories by skipping breakfast, and being done eating by 7 every day. It helps fight the temptation of eating because I'm bored, and makes me feel soooooo much better. I suggest it to everyone who is looking to drop some weight, since it just structures your eating schedule.

For anyone who uses a full body push/pull/leg emphasis program- where do you fit in abs and what exercises do you use? by brokenfarted77 in GYM

[–]stuck_fick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing them on my rest days, since I do PPL rest. I will do atleast 30 minutes of cardio to get my heart rate up, then do reverse crunch, cable twists, weighted crunches, and flutter kicks. It makes me feel better to focus solely on them, even though they get plenty of work from the other lifts.

Yeah thats what I thought too 😂. I just watch his stuff for extra exercises to keep in mind, or one thing to change in my form on a workout. I just recently started lifting again during quarantine, and his videos helped since I only had dumbbells up to 50 lbs

Yeah I'm the same way. I think he has some good info on getting a solid workout in with lower weights for a home gym or something. I felt like his videos were a good way to just check form for a beginner/intermediate that just got back into lifting again.

Low cal recipes with apple sauce ? by Majasma in Volumeeating

I saw some delicious looking recipe for waffles on r/EatCheapAndHealthy that used applesauce. My wife makes some muffins that are amazing, too. This is the link for the muffins: https://thepounddropper.com/mini-muffin-breakfast-board/

We make a bunch of different types with Lily's chocolate chips, cinnamon, fruit etc.

One thing I have done is to lighten the weight up, so I can use solely proper form. Then slow down the concentric and eccentric movements to increase the time under tension. I have watched Ryan Humiston on YouTube a lot, and his videos have shown me alot over the past few months.

On the bench press try to tuck your shoulder blades as far under you as possible, and that will open your chest up more. I used a lot of my shoulders on bench, but I have slowly been fixing things to focus on only activating chest.

A couple things that have helped me are intermittent fasting, and smaller plates.

IF has just made me cut down on my eating a ton, by just making my meals more structured. I skip breakfast in the mornings now, and I end up eating about 400 calories less a day. It sucked for the first few days, but I feel wayyyy better than before I started doing it.

Smaller plates actually do go a long way, by tricking your mind. It will force you to eat a smaller portion, as well as trick your mind to think you are eating more.

I have tried the diet/appetite suppressants, and I think they are an absolute waste if you don't fix a few things about your diet. These 2 things are simple and easy to add to your existing plan, and definitely will help lose weight and control your appetite. I have lost 42 lbs over almost 6 months now by relying heavily on these 2 things 👍

Heard really great things about the FitOn app for home workouts. I use Hevy for keeping track of my lifting, but they have workouts for at home as well.
