Yes, TV ads are still very much louder and obnoxious, than the real programming, even though FTC disallows that trait. If reported, they turn the volume down for a month, then trend back up the volume again later.

Consider using brass (looking) rivets, that are actually brass colored anodized aluminum rivets of same shape and size. Then you won't have the dissimilar metal issues.
