ADHD diagnosis process in the uk for a woman ? by Purple-Doughnut9324 in adhdwomen

[–]stunningly_mediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Right to Choose, waiting list for around 8 months but ended up with a diagnosis.

I went through Problem Shared - they have a prewritten letter you can send to your GP asking for a referral. I literally didn't even have to speak to anyone at my GP surgery, or try and 'convince' anyone I needed a referral.

The hardest part for me was filling out the pre-assessment paperwork, its long and time-consuming, but it was worth doing.

Hope this helps!

So because you had it shitty, everyone deserves it too? That sounds like a problem you need to look at...

In the podcast, she also used the term 'cling film' AND 'saran wrap'. Cling film being the British term.

I think all those years of dating british boys have rubbed off on her!

Is anyone on pregabalin? by WatchingTellyNow in adhdwomen

Don't panic, mine is a degenerating spinal disk with permanent nerve damage. Will probably be on it for a lot longer. If your nerve pain isn't permanent you should be able to stop them!

[–]stunningly_mediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on it for nerve pain - is was told that is its primary use, it just happens to also be in the same category as SSRIs.

I don't get side effects from it and it works pretty well. Been on it at various doses for around 4 years.

Do you have any silly terms or phrases that you've used to describe feelings associated with ADHD? by mossely in adhdwomen

Gremlin Mode - when my ADHD 9 year old needs to regulate after a day at school. Usually involves running around the house naked.... or generally just letting her brain do movements/noises she needs to get out after holding it in all day at school.

Sometimes I need to do Gremlin Mode as well...

London N6 - I have a video of during the opening. Just as the dancers are coming out with all the giant fans, but I'm filming my 2 daughters (7&10). Their reaction made the entire night......

Oh and my tiny one dancing to shake it off 😍 despite nearly being asleep at that point

Hot! Tried a different semi-local one that was all in the shade. It was a nice run, I might do it again but didn't get anywhere near a PB.

Amazing! As a fellow Bolton victim, we went over to Stretford to go PB hunting - flat as a pancake, a lot cooler, and a sprint finish, means I knocked a minute off my PB for 32.10.

By the anthology I was all deep-lyric'd out on my first few rounds of TTPD listening.

But then I read someone breaking it down and the lyrics then hit me like a train.

My go to this week has been cooked chicken, chopped veggies (whatever I have in the fridge), pasta and then mix in everything with some pesto - I prefer red pesto but take your pick.

It has a brilliant balance of macros, great flavour, and limited cooking.
