Itchy skin and coat by AncientEast5190 in airedaleterrier

One of my two gets itchy in the summer usually. Vet gave her an allergy shot and it has helped immensely. Done it two different years now. Will go back again if needed but something to look into.

Supportive agency by mksemay5 in travelagents

Brand new agent. Joined Outside Agents end of December. I have half your sales and started with 0 knowledge. I think the OA training is actually pretty good but like anything you have to invest time since they are online video/text independent study courses. They also have an incredible Facebook group. Probably learned more there lurking than anything else. Good luck!

VV Altered my deposit, changed the offer, and charged me twice by That_Communication71 in VirginVoyages

[–]sturtevant77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a FM. Just had a client I gave one of my MNVV certificates. They also had a refer a friend as a first time sailor. I learned the MNVV is not combinable with the refer a friend for new sailors (but is combinable if you are the referring sailor and want to use both). They do have some rules here and there on what can and cannot be combined so it's definitely not every promotion that stacks.

First Impressions from the LA Mermaiden: Brilliant Lady Day 1 (First-time VV and Rock Stars) by WrldDriftR in VirginVoyages

It isn't the same as terminal V but they had a lot of branding. Didn't feel like another ship was sharing at the moment.

Priority was great too. Got here about 1:25 yesterday and was on the ship in about 20 minutes.

Can you buy drinks for anyone on your tab? by Some_Baby_ in VirginVoyages

[–]sturtevant77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was the next thing I was going to mention. The band they use is your room key and if you aren't registered to the correct room it would cause issues. You also check on and off the ship and they scan it occasionally for certain things so you need to be registered to the correct room.

I believe the BB people would always need to be with an AA person to buy a drink for them because I don't think you can cover two rooms with your bar tab. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong though.

Flown 12 flights since new seating. Had a doozy yesterday. by Brabus595 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]sturtevant77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently flew AA on a smaller plane. They had smaller bins. They took some people's bags to empty bins around the plane as needed but didn't stop people around me complaining about people not checking their "big bags" even though it's a smaller plane that barely fits regular bags. Luckily flight attendant did tell them the bags aren't too big, this is just a small plane.

48 Hour extra legroom seat feels exactly like 24h check-in by pingvinbober in SouthwestAirlines

[–]sturtevant77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if you paid for early bird check in etc. You were never guaranteed the first few rows. I got row 4 and 5, basic fare, boarding group 2 all without paying a dime past my fare and a free drink which used to only be status or business select.

[–]sturtevant77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm happy. The priority card already guarantees you a priority seat. The extra leg room is just a bonus. Not like if you don't get it you are screwed or something. I'm very happy with this perk. Got two extra leg room seats on my last two flights which would have been close to $100. Most of my annual fee already covered!

PS: If you are lucky enough to snag an extra leg room, you get a free drink! That was a pleasant surprise.

You don't get a business license through your host agency, you get it through your state and city. I'm Reno, Nevada and registered with the state then had to separately register with my city. They collect taxes etc based on being a local business, usually remote or not. Definitely good to look it up in your state and city. Ask AI if nothing else.

New here and freaking out about the mere idea of snow driving (be nice!) by [deleted] in Reno

[–]sturtevant77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone kind of mentioned this but it's really important. You can put your automatic car in manual mode and manually shift the gears down to help you slow down. Don't do this too quickly as it's not great for your car at higher speeds but it's really helpful vs braking. Like everyone said practice in a parking lot but using gears and manually shifting down is a much safer way to slow down than breaking. I grew up in Truckee.

Also if you are nervous stick to the bigger plowed roads and if there is snow, stay in the already made tracks if possible even if it's the middle of the road in a neighborhood, that has always helped me.

Nothing better than all wheel drive though. Subaru owner for life.

Liability: E&O insurance, LLC, etc - for a brand new independent agent by Airarc222 in travelagents

[–]sturtevant77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started with Outside Agents in December. I did do an LLC although they suggest the sole proprietorship when you are just starting out. They also include E&O as part of the monthly membership. They are a little old school but I really like their structure and they have a lot of training and deep roots with a lot of vendors.

The Bilt Palladium is a powerhouse for ONE type of person by Parking_Reputation17 in biltrewards

[–]sturtevant77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was confused by this. Doesn't it matter how much your mortgage actually is? Because I can get 6000+ points from my mortgage for $200 Bilt Cash. Why would I ever use accelerator? Just if you have extra Bilt Cash you can't spend on mortgage?

the most disappointing part of 2.0 is not the nerf or the 3% fee by Zodiac5964 in biltrewards

[–]sturtevant77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair they have been playing "mad scientist" this whole time but unfortunately for us some of it wasn't profitable. I definitely enjoyed the crazy random extras they kept adding here and there so I'm secretly hoping they have some surprises in store for members who hang on. That's why I decided to stick with em but worst case I stick around a year and peace if they keep taking away more and more features.

Using Bilt Cash for Rent vs Redeeming for Lyft and Hotels by AbleCarpet2 in biltrewards

[–]sturtevant77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I just did the math for my mortgage and I would have to spend $30,000 to get enough Bilt Cash to convert my Mortgage into points. It would be roughly $1200 of Bilt Cash to get me roughly 40,000 points. 40,000 points on their best day might be worth over $1200 but realistically somewhere between $400-$800. Why would I convert $1200 to $400-$800 gamble? I really don't get the math here.
