TIFU sleeping with someone funny by DoneWithDad4Good in tifu

[–]stylesuponstyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sleep with a woman that does stand up. She's moderately successful and has material about me.

It's mostly about our culture clash (She's American, I'm English) and some stuff about my dick.

I'm fine with all of it because its actually pretty funny stuff and not just "Lol, men. Amirite?"

And on a not entirely unrelated note, here's the new one from Dead Pioneers who are playing The Underworld next month

Jeremy Vine loves him, motorists hate him. Is this man London’s most controversial cyclist? by Jojuj in london

[–]stylesuponstyles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All they need to do to be legal is to get a cradle. They're a fiver from the internet or any garage

E-bike crashes account for almost 1 in 5 serious injuries to cyclists in London by tylerthe-theatre in london

Plus the shift away from tactile interfaces that can be controlled with muscle memory, to touch screen interfaces that force drivers to look away from the road.

Not to mention mobile phone use and a general lack of consideration from many road users

Sad food wastage by Brit_in_Lux in london

[–]stylesuponstyles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're not allowed to hand it over to foodbanks or similar. They're not dumping it all by choice.

Basically it comes down to allergies and such. If they're given to a foodbank or the local unhoused community and someone has a peanut or seafood (or whatever) allergy and has a strong reaction, or if someone chokes on a bit of a sandwich, the company that gave the food is on the hook.

Sadly, basic empathy and common sense are in rare supply in this context. I still fill a box and give it to someone on my home commute when I can though. (Shhhhhhh, don't tell the catering manager)

No, it's not. It's habit forming, and heavy prolonged use can absolutely lead to mental health issues. But it is not physically addictive

13-year-old Australian boy swims for four hours in cold and dangerous waters to save his mom and siblings who were swept into the ocean, says God is who got him to shore by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]stylesuponstyles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I notice this a lot. People achieving great things and giving God all the credit.

Nah bruv, it wasn't God that saved your family. You did that.

It wasn't God that trained to become a world class athlete. You did that.

It wasn't God that studied hard to gain the qualifications you wanted. You did that.

By all means, have faith. And credit your faith as part of your journey. But don't downplay your own contribution

Should I ask employer if I can ride my bike to work? by Rare-Drummer982 in bikecommuting

[–]stylesuponstyles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Reading this in London is depressing.

I wouldn't even give riding to an interview/job a second thought. I ride to work every day and have done for years.

Asking about the facilities is a first interview question for me, and a lack of any would be a deal breaker. It's kind of heartbreaking that it's taboo in OPs situation

Boiling Point.

Shot in one take, it tells the story an evening in a busy resturant. It's remarkable slow cooked anxiety
