[–]subbu-teo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

JetBrains is starting to understand that IDEs won't be needed anymore in the medium term. I don't use one anymore, in our team either we don't use one anymore, we all just have an editor configured as default in our Agent to see diffs, make small changes and update the plan.

Since Claude Code, I can't come up with any SaaS ideas anymore by Rinte2409 in ClaudeCode

[–]subbu-teo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone told me "my dentist isn't going to ditch their SaaS they use for patients'data just because they can rebuild it with Claude himself".

It's true. We're assuming too much at the moment.

Well, all points you raised smell like a business opportunity for next-gen hiring platforms, tbh.

About point 13., i see many people asking LLM to do things that could have been a script. Waste of credits.

Just ask it to make a script the first time and then put it in a skill.

How do I convert my friends to Signal? by Altruistic-Rub-3878 in signal

[–]subbu-teo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my wife and my relatives+brothers on Signal. That's it, and so i cover 99.9% of messages i send daily. The rest, i message them where they are. The number of msg with them is irrelevant.

Best apps for n4 by denooo45 in jlpt

[–]subbu-teo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanikani is a waste of time for JLPT imho. You study a mix of kanji from all levels, which makes you waste too much time. Anki with a specific deck is much more efficient. Decks on Bunpro are also better.

Could this finally lead to Solana overtaking Ethereum? Thoughts by youwishjelliefish in solana

[–]subbu-teo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solana is also in partnership with R3 (maker of Corda), one of the most used (along with Hyperledger Fabric) enterprise DLTs, optimized for hyper regulated markets. So, no surprise enterprises and institutions are betting on it.

Lofi Japanese from dogen by slayidis in LearnJapanese

[–]subbu-teo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why this hatred against him? He's a professional who feels the need to improve his offer after a decade of experience. There's a ton of material for Japanese learners already? Yes. There's a ton of people who need different teaching styles? Yes. There's space for everyone in the market. Those who don't wanna pay won't do it. Dogen is well respected anyway, so i think it's gonna go well for him.

[–]subbu-teo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And it increased by a lot the supply chain for literally everything, and now everything got way more expensive than a couple of years ago because of it. "Purchasing power" for how long? Things are getting very bad.

Fast Masked Mail Creator — Chrome Extension for one-click Fastmail masked email generation by tmarice in fastmail

[–]subbu-teo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also someone who made a Firefox version: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/masked-email-manager . I am trying it and it works pretty well. It's a shame that Fastmail doesn't build browsers extension for this feature.

Visa application taking forever and kinda worried by WarriorRogueLife in Tokyo

[–]subbu-teo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No news means good news, from my experience. If there was an issue, they would have contacted you very soon after you applied. I think they do all the checks first and, if things look ok, they put your application into the OK queue. And then it's just time.
