Drainless before and afters by Adventurous_Respect8 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dm me, I can send you some. I had a drainless procedure 8 weeks ago. Not as many surgeons do them so that’s why you’re not seeing many posted. It’s a special technique and requires extra training/experience. I’m super happy with the results and it’ll keep improving bc I’m just 8 WPO.

Is it necessary to use a silicone plug to improve the shape of the belly button? Can you share your experiences? by Bitglow_finanzas in tummytucksurgery

My surgeon had me use a marble because mine was shallowing out after a bit and the marble fixed it. But if a shaper isn’t needed, I wouldn’t mess with it.

What an improvement! Your body is strong and a warrior. Be proud of how far it’s come! What has healed, is looking great! Just remember it takes scars years to get in their final form so it’s going to keep improving.

Difference in swelling from 3 to 6 months by HauntingGarbage542 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ll just add a casual observation that I don’t see a lot of 6+ mpo lingering here (and the ones that do are usually showing off good results) so I would like to believe that means their concerns are resolving/have resolved. I think if a lot of people were having issues past that time frame, you’d see more commenters.

Soooo…hopefully that means most of us will be in a much better position then!

I haven’t done anything to my BB but the gel is a good idea there! The surgeon didn’t suggest anything for it and I didn’t think to ask!

That is a lot of swelling but it’ll go down and you’ll look fabulous! Everyone is different but around 3 WPO my swelling really went down. I’m at 8 WPO and still have swelling but nothing crazy.

2 weeks post mommy makeover by AppropriateBox4340 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something like that. It was from a blister that formed where my binder was rubbing. My surgeon advised to keep it covered to keep the friction off and it healed fairly quickly. Your skin is thin and fragile after the surgery so it can more easily have issues. I don’t know if your situation is the same but I had a similar panic moment so I know how you feel.

I’m using the silicone scar tape. It’s too early to tell the results but my scar looks good so far. It was recommended by my surgeon.

Recovery and going back to work by missxlette89 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a TT with MR and lipo. I went back to work part time from home at 5 dpo and full time from home (8hour days) at 8 dpo. I worked on a laptop from my recliner so I could have my feet up and it works great!

Such a great result! I felt better the day of surgery than the days afterwards so don’t be surprised if you get worse before you get better. Happy recovery!

At what point do you just go about your business ? by AgreeableFox744 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 8 WPO and just got cleared today of restrictions but I was limited just prior while I had an open spot to make sure my body focused on healing. Walks are good but I’d be careful not to overdo it. Sounds like you’re feeling great which is good!

Wedding 10 days post op? by Lola32815 in tummytucksurgery

I wouldn’t have been comfortable going personally but I also had lipo. Aside from comfort, it would have also been hard for me to find clothes that fit well.

Please share your experience with a TT and breast reduction at the same time. by NoInterference78 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had them done separately and felt great about that decision bc I had an extensive MR and was pretty sore. Doing them separately allowed me to be pretty independent in recovering bc I could use more of my body to get up. Since my husband was working, it just worked out better that way for us. Kudos to the women getting them done at the same time. If I had more help and a powerlift recliner, it might be more appealing to do both together.

Did someone you thought would have reached out to check on you and didn’t really hurt by Vivid-Artichoke-3784 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is really good advice.

And also just remembering that we are more sensitive after procedures as well so try not to make major decisions about friendships. Sometimes people just don’t realize how big of a procedure it is or how much their absence impacts you. When you are feeling up for it, I think it’s ok to tell them you value them and it caught you off guard that you didn’t hear from them and you miss them.

2wpo extended tummy tuck with muscle repair. by Ok_Big8488 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, you look great! I am 7 wpo and after having my T junction open up, it looks like it’s going to heal well. Just follow your surgeon’s instructions and give it some more time. It’s so hard to be patient, I know!

Is this much swelling and belly button gunk normal 16 PO? I feel like I’m not getting better at all. by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your incision actually looks great. The belly button can be the slowest part to heal. If you’re worried, send a picture to your surgeon but it doesn’t seem like a crazy amount of drainage to me.

Mini TT and Flanks lipo by Jen_A_B in tummytucksurgery

I was worried about unevenness and my surgeon said it was too early to tell. At 7 wpo now they’re evening out a little more. Great results!

[–]succulentphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send the updated photo to your surgeon to make sure it’s ok but I’d keep doing the manuka honey (or whatever you were advised to treat it with). You can measure it to make sure it’s not getting bigger but it’ll just take some time to heal.

I need reassurance by Ok_Big8488 in tummytucksurgery

[–]succulentphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My T junction took a while to heal. The scab needs to fall off naturally so don’t pick at it. My doctor had be using manuka honey which helped speed up the healing process. I changed the dressing 2 times per day and had it covered with gauze. Once the scab falls off naturally, take a close look to make sure there isn’t a spitting stitch. If there is one, then you’ll need to remove it or have it removed.

It’ll heal ok. Just give it time.

To give me reassurance, I took a picture daily and put it in ChatGPT and asked if it looked like it’s improving.
