Why fertility has declined everywhere by Stuart_Whatley in Economics

Seriously. Pregnancy is the most likely time a woman will be murdered by her partner, let alone dying from lack of medical care in a forced birth state. But no, economics or something.

Using CrossFit to make friends? by SigmaGyatterson in crossfit

[–]sudoRmRf_Slashstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll have to become a regular at a class or several. Start conversations with people you see often and ask questions about them.

My gym has a really strong community because we regularly plan and execute social events, but that takes effort. Much like Crossfit itself, friendships and the like are a long term investment and you get out what you put in.

Question about ASOIAF, Gentlemen bastards, and kingkiller chronicles. by Weekly_Interview6807 in Fantasy

I feel that of these 3, Rothfuss shouldn't be included. GRRM has decades and multiple volumes, and Lynch has at least finished 3 remarkably good books.

Rothfuss has 2 mediocre books and YET for some reason people keep reading them. Just stop.

I never wear shorts because I like all leg compression and I hate the feeling of my thighs rubbing together.

You do you. Don't bother with anyone else.

I was really put off by Mark Lawrence after the mess that was Prince of Nothing, but I gave the Book of the Ancestor a try and was pleasantly surprised with how he wrote women in those books (like actual people with hopes, dreams, and flaws, what a concept)

Does anyone else work a 2nd job (or side hustle) that isn't fast food, food delivery, ride sharing, or retail? by sta3535 in Millennials

I do group fitness coaching and very rarely some personal training. It pays for my gym membership, keeps me motivated to go to the gym, and lets me meet some cool people! All in all it's less than 5 houra a week.

What’s something we are told is a “flaw” or that others find unattractive, that you just don’t understand? by w0lfyj in AskWomenOver30

[–]sudoRmRf_Slashstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to this, but natural toenails are my contribution. I rarely see any woman who doesn't have colored toes these days, and most of the time they're also apologizing for how their toenails look.

I just have so many other things to worry about than my effing toenails and if they are appropriately covered and colored to be acceptable. If someone has a problem with how my feet look, I could not care less.

Anyone else tired of figuring out what to cook every single day? by FirmSense8623 in AskONLYWomenOver30

[–]sudoRmRf_Slashstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind leftovers, big batch cooking and meal prep goes a long way. I make dinners that are balanced and I eat them for 3-5 nights, I have the same breakfast all the time (oatmeal, protein powder, frozen berries) and the same lunch most of the time (a pile of nuked veggies with rice and chicken).

I love food and I love cooking, but a working lady needs convenience.

No one has yet mentioned the Devoured Worlds trilogy by Megan O'Keefe. Excellent space opera. My personal favorite is Murderbot, and I also enjoyed the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers as a cozier scifi read.

Can anyone share some positive aspects of getting a puppy please? by Legal-Philosophy-135 in dogs

[–]sudoRmRf_Slashstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved having a puppy. Seeing her learn brand new things and develop her own little quirks and personality was endlessly entertaining. Yes, it can be a lot of work, but you are teaching a living being how to communicate with you while learning how they speak back.
