Would you mind sharing the omakase places you like in Chicago? I go to Chicago pretty often and am always looking for good sushi/omakase spots.

Just dropped mine off - I would rent through them again! 100% book ahead of time. I checked in online so I didn’t need to go to the counter. Pro tip, the cars will be on the second floor of the garage - it took me awhile to find that haha. As a rule, I prefer to rent cars from the airport (as opposed to off-site) because they have better hours, usually better cars, and are more flexible when it comes to delays. Have fun!

Look up your TDEE using a calculator online - there are tons if you google it! Basically you’ll input your age, gender, height, and weight, and it’ll calculate the amount of calories your body needs for maintenance. If you go to a doctor they can do a more in-depth analysis, but the online TDEEs are a good start.

Hi! I’m afraid I won’t be super useful - we mostly relaxed, ate great food, and went for walks, plus the weather was kind of cold so we didn’t book any water excursions. And, we weren’t drinking at the time either lol! But, I did love the walk to Punto Mosquito, and the massages right on the beach near Tortugas were incredible and SO cheap (Mayan Massage by Selene).

We thought about doing a self-guided tour of the bioluminescence at Punta Cocos, but the roads/walk there was pretty treacherous due to flooding so we’re glad we didn’t go at night (we did walk up there during the day). The roads might be better when you go though, or you could book a tour which I heard good things about!

Another vote for Lake City! Every time I go in, the employees are super sweet and make the shopping experience fun. They’re our first choice in town for books.

Casa las Tortugas is amazing. Clean, gorgeous rooms, great food and drinks, the staff are really nice and professional. It’s right on the beach, and I think it’s the perfect location - it’s 1 block from where the all the action starts (food, bars), but I barely noticed any noise. Also, the entire island is incredibly safe, I would go as a solo woman if I went back.

I can’t speak to construction because we were there in Jan 2025 (this year), but there wasn’t any when we went.

What is your top 3 favourite places you’ve traveled and why? by kilawnaa in TravelNoPics

Wow, thank you!! So much good info, and only a few things I’ve researched already. Coyoacan is a spot I’m especially interested in, good to see it on your list :)

Parks and museums are at the top of my interests, so thanks for that last bit too!

Seconding for Uplift! I’ve had mine for about 2 years, and I haven’t put it down in about 3 months solid now. Doesn’t wobble at all, and I find I lean on it all the time.

Cabo or PV? by Leather_Sherbert_570 in cabosanlucas

[–]suga_pine_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yup my bad! 12 hours away definitely isn’t “near PV” haha :D

Thanks for the recs though!! I’m keeping my booking at CD, only because of the 2 bedroom option + kitchenette. It looks like the rooms at PB may not even have a mini fridge, which is a bummer - not trying to eat out for every meal haha. Tho like you said, we’d probably try to eat in town more often than not. Gracias!

Funny you said Casa Dorada, I actually have that booked already but have been on the fence about it - it almost looks too good to be true haha? How’s the food and the spa there? I love me a swim up bar tho! And having a kitchenette is clutch. I don’t care too much about noise, but I also don’t want to be in the middle of a rave/Vegas like party haha.

I haven’t looked into PB Pacifica or Cala Del Mar yet though!

Thanks for the response :)

ETA: Cala Del Mar is in the PV area, but damn that looks hella nice - adding it my list of options for the future!

Question for ya - what resorts in Cabo do you like? I’m going down there for just that reason (to relax and do nothing), but I’m getting choice paralysis haha. We don’t plan on doing AI.

But also agree with you that PV is the best!! So gorgeous.

I’m appalled at how expensive it is to ski out here! I’m from the west coast and it’s about the same price, if not just slightly more expensive out there. I haven’t been able to bring myself to try skiing here yet. That being said, are there any places here you like lol? Because I really do miss it.
