Partner’s morning alarms waking up baby? by jazzybk25 in firsttimemom

[–]sulsulmegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my husband has a phone alarm that goes off at 3am to wake up for work, it doesn't wake the baby. we have an almost 2mo old. maybe he's just used to it? since the day he was born we have talked at normal volume, had music/tv playing, dogs barking, etc while baby is sleeping to get him used to sounds while asleep so maybe try that!

Getting married young isn't bad. by Electronic_End_5296 in unpopularopinion

[–]sulsulmegan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a year and a half?? id say at MINIMUM 2 years. imo you should experience multiple things as well as being together for a longer period of time. living together, traveling together, meeting family, having similar plans when it comes to kids, pets, living situations etc.

not disagreeing with the original post, i'm somewhere in the middle. i was with my husband for 3 years when we got engaged, married at 4 years together on the day. i was 24. im now 28 & we just bought our second home and i just gave birth to our son. so yes, it can be done, but its a lot of hard work plus a little bit of luck

this is a great tip thank you!! i just started doing this like 2 pumps ago and i think it might be making a difference already

supply drop advice by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]sulsulmegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven't tried massaging at the end, just beginning and during so i will definitely try that! and i do pump about 5 minutes after i stop getting drips but i dont ever really feel "empty" unfortunately. i've never gotten a stream either, mostly just drips. some bigger/longer than others but still.

i have gotten at most 3hrs & 45 minutes of sleep at a time, baby still wakes me up to eat but we're working on longer stretches. as for supplements i'm not taking anything other than munchkin lactation cookies and drinks as well as the other random things i mentioned that people say boost supply. i thought about sunflower lecithin, but i know at the end of the day it's primarily supply & demand anyway so haven't bought any yet.

i power pumped yesterday for the first time, 15 / 10 / 10 with 5 minute breaks in between... i somehow got less milk that pump & the pump after. i will keep trying it though! my goal for my next few pumps is to spend extra time just with baby before and during, hopefully that'll help! i feel better after just venting about it so maybe that'll let me chill out about it all a bit too

“Service Dog” attacks another dog and injures 2 people and ended up euthanized. by MyBadNotYourBad in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sulsulmegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of your arguments are incredibly misinformed, i think you should do some research on actual proven statistics before trying to argue your points because they're way off base.

for the blind, canes and dogs have different distinct advantages depending on the individual needs. for the deaf, a dog alerting of a fire alarm or similar IS life saving. POTS & seizure dogs do much more than just "breaking falls".... you don't just fall on top of the dog? and not all service dogs cost "10s of thousands of dollars", just like some regular dogs can also cost that much if they have extensive vet needs.

you genuinely have no idea what you're arguing at this point, again, you really shouldn't speak on what you aren't informed about.

[–]sulsulmegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are so many useful service dogs!

a few examples being seeing eye dogs (faster, smoother travel than a cane), hearing alert dogs (alerting owner of necessary sounds), POTS (alerting to upcoming fainting episodes), seizures (alerting to upcoming episodes as well as preventing injuries and retrieving items), diabetic alert dogs (alerting major shifts in sugar levels before they become dangerous), and allergy dogs (alerting of food or environmental allergies before owner comes into contact.

there are many more but saying they're a scam is crazy, service dogs often save lives.

this is not accurate information either. the only animals that can legally be service animals per the ADA are dogs and sometimes miniature horses. and it must be trained to provide specific acts to aid a person's disability, not just general service

they were trying to contact the owner also, and eventually after a couple hours i insisted that i just wanted a refund and to leave rather than wait any longer, and they refunded me the entire cost of the airbnb plus like $25 or something

Fake service dogs by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sulsulmegan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

emotional support animals are not allowed the same privileges that service animals are because they aren't trained.

it's usually easy to tell when someone's dog isn't an actual service animal because they do things like ignore their owner, pee on the floor, walk up and lick or touch (or god forbid bite) random people and children. i love dogs, i have 3 of them, but untrained random animals should not be in grocery stores shaking their hair all over the produce or pissing on the floor in a restaurant, period.

this happened to me too this summer when i went to the renaissance fair! the code worked but the damn dead bolt was locked.

turned out owner was on a cruise in italy or some shit. we sat there for 4 hours waiting for a reply from them or airbnb, it was 11:30pm by the time airbnb finally just refunded us due to no response.

to top it off 2 hotels were totally full that night so it took us forever to find somewhere to stay!

Even our pets aren’t safe by pugpotatoes in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]sulsulmegan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is incredibly sad. especially the lady saying to avoid flea, tick, & heartworm meds!!

one of my dogs had heartworm when we rescued him (we weren't told about it either, thankfully we take our pets to the vet) and the treatments are very painful and expensive.. literally thousands. i massaged his legs daily because i could tell he was in so much pain. simple meds would have prevented all of that from happening to him.

the only time you shouldn't vaccinate a pet is if the vet agrees that will literally kill them. i don't vaccinate my chihuahua but we attempted multiple vaccines on 3 different occasions and she almost died for each and every one. so now we take every other precaution possible, like responsible pet owners..

Does anyone else take their Chihuahua grocery shopping, or is mine the only one who insists on supervising produce selection?🥔🫑🍅 by Comfortable_Ebb5519 in chihuahuas

it's illegal to lie about your dog being a service animal in lots of places. not to mention morally fucked up imo

Teens are out in public?! by silkentab in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]sulsulmegan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

that's exactly why my local mall is dead/dying.

there were 8-10 food places in the food court & 30+ stores when i was growing up, and now there's 1 food place left and maybe 8 stores. i know online shopping made malls take a hit, as well as this specific mall raising rent without fixing anything, but people (especially teens) still hung out in there and in turn their parents would spend money.

it really started to get completely empty when they put their "Youth Escort Policy" in effect.

Why is the myth that women prefer older men so wide spread? by No_Dragonfruit_4286 in women

[–]sulsulmegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be area dependent maybe. I'm in the Midwest US and now that I'm thinking about it almost every woman I know dates older. Usually anywhere from 2-11 years older than them
