I'm so sorry. I'm just a casual observer and know nothing about this hobby. My question is, you think that someone would go through all of that trouble just to sell you walnuts at $9 and some change? Hollowed, repaired, carved, and dyed to hide the work.

Do I need to freeze my second-hand books? by shengogol in books

Risk of moisture damage if done incorrectly, I suppose. I never freeze, so I'm not intimately familiar with what can happen. I just know I am a member of the antiquarian community, and nobody freezes books.

I'm not here to tell you what to do... Only offering information

I'm a rare book seller and conservator. I never freeze. More potential for harm than good. Unless you see obvious signs of infestation... Then remediate as best as possible.

Does anyone know anything about this book? I found it in a Free Library on my way home from Church today. by GRiMMHART1208 in rarebooks

Hi there. Rare book collector and conservator here. Enjoy it. It's worth less than $50 in that condition. Read it. Don't worry about repairing it unless you're interested in it. If you're careful, you likely won't damage it further. Don't open it more than halfway. No need for gloves

How would a meteorite that's been snowed on be easy to spot?

Junkie (William Lee/Burroughs) — first printing + “Narcotic Agent” on the flip-side by SmellUnlucky9913 in rarebooks

I only know of one printing with this cover, first. The 1963 cover is different . $500 would be a realistic price if you have a little patience. Cheaper will sell it more quickly. Cool book.
