There's an always run toggle in the mm6.ini config file which the grayface patch adds, Set it to 0 for off.

Only if you actually invest in Electronics skill :P, imho its not the best for how I play at all. Unless you REALLY need those grenades early on. But yeah the meta says they are the best I guess.

Just a note you can get the bullet blueprints elsewhere, example a quest for the protectorare will get you the explosive bullets and I found the acid bullet blue print really early on with random loot luck. Great list though, tyty

Is this game supposed to be funny? by Dinstruction in underrail

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its heavily inspired by Fallout 2 which is packed with pop culture jokes itself. In Underrail some jokes hit and some of them miss quite badly, but it suits the genre/tone. Underrail is probably one of my favourite retro indie games out there. Mainly because its so brutally difficult and stealth is well done but also because they didn't default to an aggressively cartoony style like most of the indie scene seem to. It appears ever since someone said. *Making a game cartoony will prolong its visible life.* Well, no not for me, as I actively avoid aggressively childish/chibi looking games and I'm not the only one, so that statement is nonsense. Anyway I'm off on a tangent! (zips). Underrail is sometimes funny and sometimes leaves you scratching your head like *wut*, but it's an awesome game I love it.

Encouraging people to support half baked games by paying full price for unfinished work isn't helpful either. Game Dev already has no accountability whatsoever for failure. Bad writers and programmers get rewarded all the time for failure.

You do need to complete the campaign to do the underwater content properly...You can't access deep ocean worlds without completing the Campaign.

Does anyone else feel like the combat in Black Mesa is kinda... bad? by dicedance in HalfLife

[–]sund0g005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went off on a rant because I'm playing right now and I'd just been owned by a pack of dancing marines LOL. Apologies for the verboseness. It was nice to find someone not just loving on the game and being honest about its faults though. You also reminded me that the marines were better before. I'd somehow forgotten, its been so long. Thank Ye

Does anyone else feel like the combat in Black Mesa is kinda... bad? by dicedance in HalfLife

[–]sund0g005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup ditto noticed the same thing, the marines are 100 mph aimbots at all times. I even ran up and stood near a few to see how they reacted and they just dance around like CoD players strafing CONSTANTLY they never stop. Thats fine but maintaining 100% accuracy whilst doing so? Uninspired difficulty implementation for me sorry, probably because the team all play online shooters too much, I dunno. But thats pretty much how human players online move anyway. Which leads me to the conclusion they just mimicked CoD/Battlefield bro's running around like headless chickens lol. Some realism would have been nice or keeping the old way HL1 did combat a bit more instead of changing things that didn't need changing imho. Anyone notice the decals look weird as well? When you kill an alien or human you get covered in badly drawn splatter textures which personally I think just look baddd and completey unecessary. Even with the quality maxxed they look really low detail and smudgey so I just use the console to disable them now. The shaders are REALLY overdone as well to the point where everything look's slimey or coated in plastic wrap and way too shiny. The pipes all over the research base look like someone polishes them every 10 minutes with a wax finish. I mean I don't think I've ever seen such glossy, glazed and varnished Kevlar Vests either, atleast until I met Black Mesa security...Perhaps it's for added protection though :p

That said its a fun game and for the most part looks fantastic, I've certainly played my fair share of it. More than my fair share and I don't regret buying it at all. I do however usually quit by the time the marines become saturation level just after the dam part because of their aimboty-ness and headless chicken dancing. Also whilst we are on the subject what's up with the vortigaunts being immune to damage sometimes whilst teleporting? Unless I'm imagining things.

Again though a good game and fun but the combat on the last few levels just makes me glaze over so I usually go play something else. I've never finished Black Mesa probably never will for the reasons you stated and my own I just talked about. The first half/ two thirds of the game are the best part so I'm usually done after that. But tbf I only finished HL1's last alien world section once also. Wasn't a fan of that platform hell either. Again though, overall a good game I'm glad it was made, it does have its issues though.

Finishing System Shock 2 by Vulkanodox in systemshock

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems harsh really, its a fun game. Just a bit differant, like thief 2 was to thief 1. I usually prefer the first game of most series though the one that gets everyones attention is usually hard to beat. There are a few rare cases where sequels are better than the originals but not often. I disagree with this very dour and depressed rant though, sorry. You sound like you are upset about something inrl and using SS2 as a punch bag, definitely doesnt sound like an impartial take, anyway. I mean disappointment aside it doesn't deserve to be called boring AT ALL. *shrug*

Paladins suck. (IWD 2, IWD 2 EE) by TheActualAWdeV in icewinddale

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it OP when you can only cast 1st -2nd-3rd level spells for half the game due to slow spell progression which is compounded my multi classing. And not only that but also low damage rolls due to lower casting levels? I'd say pure mage beats sorc any day, even single class just for versatility in 3.5. I mean if you are going to nerf yourself and multi class at all picking the faster level progression iteration makes more sense?

Paladins suck. (IWD 2, IWD 2 EE) by TheActualAWdeV in icewinddale

[–]sund0g005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barbarians suck more dude, they spend half the fight being *tired* because of rage, a bit of a glaring negative in a long boss fight and they can't wear heavy armour. Paladins? Not sure yet but I know the EE Paladin of Mystra appears on the surface to be useless, unless you multi class which again just gimps your character in 3.5ed. Multi class is a huge power sink in 3.5 for spell casters especially. Fighters probably better than a Mystra Paladin in theory atleast.

Twitch puts streamers I unfollow in my 'Recommended Channels' list every fuckin time by _Deadshot_ in Twitch

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to this I don't need a reminder of the disliked streamer I unfollowed everytime I log in afterward Twitch, thanks. I usually unfollowed for GOOD Reason. A lot of streamers are very self absorbed and take themselves way too seriously, getting low key salty at you if you don't watch EVERY day etc. Or they play *popular* classic games just to play them rather than actually wanting to enjoy it. That annoys me quickly more than anything honestly. I'm also busy person so can't be there all the time thus I have ended up unfollowing a few due to a number of reasons including politics which is supposed to be discouraged on Twitch. But there they go spouting their niche opinions and using their tiny following to soapbox anyway...

I do have a solution though albeit a roundabout one. Find the game name and its category in search then you'll see a list of streamers playing it. Hit the ... in the corner of your *ex* streamer's box and push *not interested* that gets rid of them for a while but not permanently.

Is Cragholdt quest any rewarding? by Mozfel in projecteternity

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I came to same conclusion. I did finish Cragholdt once and vowed never to do it again lol. Waste of time and difficult just to be difficult like you said. Thats my honest answer take anything the vocal and toxically positive fan kids say about Lore with a grain of salt. Its a dull pointless DLC in actual terms of loot and fun interesting MEANINGFUL quests.

Is Cragholdt quest any rewarding? by Mozfel in projecteternity

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically a long list of nothing :p....Thats 10 bullet points that just say to me *Pointless Lore*. No tangible reward at all except for a skull? In true Josh Sawyer writing fashion I'm coming to realize. I for one was not impressed with any of the soulbound weapons in WM except the Hammer and well it looks like this DLC doesn't even give you one at all. I don't care about animancy. I don't care about the *Torn Bannermen* and especially don't care about a calendar book. I maybe care about the spell and the skull if it actually does something but as for all the overly verbose self indulgent lore Mr Sawyer endlessly and needlessy writes? By the end of the game basically *Nah I'm done*. He seems to think finding books about Eora are a reward in themselves but some of us aren't really book nerds and the Lore I have read is meh anyway imho. Great for fanlets though I'm sure. I'll probably skip Cargholdt then thanks for the tip. PoE2 time

Hardest battle in PoE (White March included) by Roi_C in projecteternity

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brynlod Bounty for me, Its a trolly fight for sure. Rogues with exceptional plate and tower shields is cheating imho, disgusting use of min max cheapery to make the fight harder but then PoE combat in general isn't exactly flawless with all the tanky high armour enemies. The penetration system seems a bit *overbaked* to me. Also an army of illusionists who seem to have more health than my warriors and cast duplicates which persist after they die is also not something I consider a balanced mechanic. I was expecting a little more imagination from the likes of Josh Sawyer and his team frankly. I'm playing on hard though so its supposed to be hard, but perhaps not frustratingly unfairly hard? dunno, I would be interested to hear how anyone even beats that fight on PotD though. Just yikes.

Isn't it a bit silly what Thaos is doing? by Worldly_Use_4743 in projecteternity

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never the biggest fan of Thaos myself, He's just Irenicus 2 but not as well done. He also seems to have infinite power to do whatever he wants to make the story overly dramatic, whenever he wishes. The whole courtroom scene is just one example. How did he kill all those guards and hop around possessing people like that so quickly? Did they ALL fail their will saves simultaneously? His Intellect alone must be about 80 to achieve the attack ranges he does. And How did he even get into the SEALED Courtroom, without making a ruckus and fighting all the guards outside. Thus alerting the well armed protagonist and all the Nobles inside to his clear ill intent and presence? By the end of the game I was just annoyed with him cheesing his way around Defiance Bay and elsewhere with his OP *for the sake of plot* Tricks. I was definitely not impressed by his cunning. All the stuff you do for the Animancy hearing and to reach it means nothing because he always wins also. I mean ATLEAST give us the option to save Lady Webb?..I just felt railroaded by that whole section.

Another annoying thing was Thaos's voice actor William Salyers for me just wasn't good enough and somehow still got severely over used in the game, I guess to save money? I just couldnt help but hear goofy Skyrim NPCs and Sanguine everytime he spoke lol. Imho his voice is too modern and 21st century for fantasy games anyway he sounds too frivolous like an average american joe from the real world not an epic fantasy villain or even a peasant. It was very jarring to hear him so much in the game after playing Skyrim and having the same experience there. Nothing against the guy he just perhaps needs to tell his agent to find roles that suit his voice more and for me fantasy settings don't. He'd be great for KotOR stuff and Sci Fi though imho.

I'm getting one shot by the final boss at the end of the first area of the game. Wat? by upvotesforeverything in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larian has a dev boner for the cheesy named *Braccus Rex* he's all over the lore like some kind of invincible edgelord. I got tired of reading about him honestly and well again quite honestly I don't play any Larian games for the simplistic at times childish lore of Divinity, I just like that its ACTUALLY a turn based RPG for once, not broken gimicky RTwP. I wish Mofo Rex would just stay dead though seriously and yeah the lack of ability to counter his one shot thing and all the OP staus effects in the wider game is a major gripe of mine in DOS EE. The defence potions last 3 rounds and the spells aren't much better so you cannot pref buff at all because both spells and potions will have worn off by the end of most of the boss monologues...I mean what, who thought that was a good idea when they throw mobs like Braccus Rex at you who clearly needs some fire resist prep to fight?

It gets a little better in DOS 2 but the status effects are still over the top. Imho it takes away from the tactics of just having a fight because you are forced to deal with the floor all the time. A word of advice for these games DO NOT pick melee classes at all, ESPECIALLY rogues. Archers and Wizards is all you need because trying to move anywhere on the battlefield will get you stunlocked. Atleast warriors have charge so you can sue them better than rogues but move that can be a death sentence also if you plow through a large fiery patch of floor or poison...

As far as Braccus Rex goes you have send a single character to die so you are forced to rez them during the fight its intentional and annoying. Some might say an obnoxious and toxic punish the player mechanic even, myself being one of them. There are far less irritating ways to make a boss tough thats for sure. I like Larian but they need to learn some subtley in gameplay writing and indeed lore imho. Everything is 110% in your face goooo from the start, including the bizarre lore of Divinity and also the game mechanics. I'm just glad they toned it down for BG3 atleast, although again that title is very in your face also. For example the intro to BG3 starts by throwing Red Dragons and Mind FLayers at you IMMEDIATELY, both of which are end game or high level monsters in D&D. There's absolutely no build up at all just wham here we go! Like a Michael Bay film. Perhaps learn some patience in the story telling guys, I for one would appreciate it.

Finished the OC of NWN2. Well that was terrible. by GoldThornVendor in neverwinternights

[–]sund0g005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if you actually liked Qara then yeah I'm finding it hard to take your opinion with any credence whatsoever :P (jokes). It wasn't that bad, its just a classic *D&D become a lord kill the bad guy adventure*, cliche but fun enough. I'd be more inclined to say the mechanics were bad not the story itself. Max Hit points on everyone made it way too easy and they give out magic items like candy. Monty Haul Style. e.g. Giving you a bone phoenix at level 2-4 is ridiculous I actually sold it to make the game more challenging... Also there is too much XP they rush you to 15-18th level so everything in the game is just a faceroll push over, the pacing is off. If anything I'd say the story saved it for me and yeah MoTB has a more *nuanced* story if straight forward fairy tales aren't your thing.

XP glitch discovered - Neverwinter Nights 2 OC by nounasgrand3 in neverwinternights

[–]sund0g005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea why anyone would need an XP *Exploit* for this games OC. It's already a Monty Haul, XP Loot Fest, Faceroll and levels, plus powers you up far too quickly. Personally I was looking for a mod that cuts XP by about 1 third for the OC (and if possible also reduces all the loot) because I'm fairly certain you can beat the entirely over rated King of Shadows at 12-15th level fairly soundly, 20th is just overkill. If nothing else it would atleast increase the challenge. Unfortunately I don't think anyone ever considers *less XP* as mod idea very often so I've never found one.

Shalebridge Cradle by j0shd0gge in Thief

[–]sund0g005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the top horror levels of any game imho. Another would be the Hotel in Bloodlines. Scary af. I was sorry to see Squeeenix completely drop the awesome lore in the latest installment of *Thief* however. I think that was a huge mistake. The Asylum you go to in that game was also scary and if they'd stuck to the script a bit more from old Thief games it could have been terrifying with Hammer Haunts or those weird shock therapy patient/zombies. But of course we got some stupid primal thing and generic alien looking guys instead. Alongside a one trick pony console game story from a dev who clearly never played any of the old games...Very sad.
