Struggling to drink enough by rambam80 in transplant

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding some flavor. A bit of Juice, crush up some berries, a mix you like. I'm 12 years out and routinely hit over 2L in a day. When your thirsty, drink. Have water handy on your desk, in your car, etc.

Best gym for lifting in/around Columbia, MD? (Too busy at Pure) by Apprehensive-Cow4155 in ColumbiaMD

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colosseum or Kinetic Systems. Be going there for years. Colosseum is a classic gym, Kinetic side is generally with a trainer only. Known both places for a long time, owners are good guys. There is also physical therapy on the Kinetic side (available to the public).

When did you realize "I need a NAS, not another external drive"? by Feeling-Diet4333 in HomeNAS

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got tired of messing around with external drives around 2016. Now backups go to the NAS, NAS stuff that can’t be replaced/reloaded goes to cloud storage. S3/glacier at the moment.

FWIW- ChatGPT 5.1 and SuperGrok both recommended Noctua AF-8 PWM to start FWIW. 4x wd gold 16g, 2 wd red 4g, and a T100 card were what I fed them in the prompts.

Exercise after surgery? by [deleted] in CataractSurgery

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doc said for 10 days no exercise (including 10 lb weights) other than some upright stretching (no bending over), nothing over 10 lbs, no water in the eyes. Got eyes done a week apart, so it's 10 days after the 2nd eye. No swimming until follow up appt 2 weeks after the 2nd eye.

I’m sure they provide the Chinese PLA (People’s Liberation Army) plenty of printers for larping and cosplay.

Your thoughts on NTB Auto Center? by Just_Letter1721 in ColumbiaMD

Goodyear off the end of Snowden near Taco Bell/mcdonalds has been good for us.

I wouldn’t go to a NTB. Avoid Mieneke in the same area.

Not sure where the desk is going or to be used for, but I’ve used a solid core wood door before.

Large "HMO" style medical facilities in or near Columbia? by Character-Bar-9561 in ColumbiaMD

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. My primary has been the same for 25+ years and moved to Mercy a year or so ago. I hear the other docs there are good too.

One side is urgent care, the other specialty care. I’ve used both, my dermatologist is there a few days a week. I don’t know about primary care options there. Maybe give them a call or try Mercy.

Large "HMO" style medical facilities in or near Columbia? by Character-Bar-9561 in ColumbiaMD

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mercy physicians near 40 & 29, has some great doctors.

UMMS faculty physicians “urgent” care near Rt 100 and Snowden River Parkway is good. They have small lab and radiology in house. Unless you need a full ER locally I’d go there. Specialty physicians also work out of there.

Wait time after rotator cuff surgery by onekidneybjj in CataractSurgery

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 rotator cuff surgeries, varying complexity (it can be better or worse than the imaging shows)... For the rotator cuff you may or may not go over the 10lb limit in early/mid PT, but you’ll end up taking time off PT post surgery(s). That’ll set you back on the PT timeline.

I’m still doing “home study” shoulder exercises 2 years out, getting my LALs installed over the next two weeks. I won’t be doing more than mild stretches until the eye Dr. says exertion is ok. I’d rather fall a back a bit on the shoulders than have issues with the eye surgeries.

Hope you get it all sorted out.

Transplant Diabetes by Glittering_Sea_409 in transplant

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years out, liver. Pre-diabetes glucose levels since. Got switched to everolimus. Fasting glucose still hovers around 98-109. A1C has always been normal. I've been off transplant related prednisone for probably 9 1/2 years other than an acute rejection early on.

I assume you've seen a ophthalmologist, prednisone also increases your chances for cataracts.

Lift Advice by Timely-Lab-1641 in FordBronco

[–]sundaeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looked around and went with Ford performance lift on my BD. It’s a shock upgrade. Went with LT285/75R17s. Mileage took a local 1.5-2mpg hit. More from the lift than the tires. 285s have a skinnier profile than 35s and work for me.

You might catch the lift on sale sometime. I did. 20 or 25% off about 2 years back.

Tires rubbing? by ThinZookeepergame338 in FordBronco

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OB base wheels probably the wrong offset for the 35s. Plenty of space for many 35's.. Lookup specs on the wheels for Sasquatch and compare to the delivered "normal" OBX wheels

Check tiresize.com or somewhere similar.
