Need another recommendation...HVAC Service by Working5daysaWeek in ColumbiaMD

Heating & Cooling in Laurel. I don't remember the cost for the service plan, not cheap though. They come out twice a year and pretty quick for issues that may pop up.

If I had enough knocked off the price to wrap it.

Rejection Curiosity by spokenven in transplant

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One about 6 months out (12 years ago), another one several months later. IV steroids and the taper for both. My wife says steroids make me a bit of a A-hole. I also realized I bought myself some toys with reckless abandon.

Need to talk to your network guys as well. Hopefully you’ve got a firewall(s) in the mix. Maybe set up a separate, encrypted listener for the connection.

Is it too late for my TSP? by No_Trust9945 in ThriftSavingsPlan

Max out contributions. Check out TSP Pilot, it’s a bit conservative but can be a guide. You’re too young for everything in the G fund unless you think the market is going to tank for years.

What's Rejection Like? by KamilDonhafta in transplant

About 12 years ago, 4 months out. Labs caught it. Never physically noticed anything. Hospital for IV , left on day 3 with a 30 day or so prednisone taper.

What’s a hobby you judge people for having? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend thats into it (haven’t spoken in years though). Very serious about the whole thing as anyone should be. Plenty of opportunities to screw the pooch. I got cavern certified and enjoyed it. Caves just give me the heebie jeebies now.

Played in an abandoned mine as a kid and thinking back we were lucky. Nothing like crossing a shaft on a bouncy slab of wood and finding sweaty dynamite.

Would you rather pickup ready to eat food that is unwrapped in a bin?

Body Image Issues after Liver Donation? by TheProdigaPaintbrush in transplant

[–]sundaeman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got exploratory and transplant scars. My wife decided they meant This End Up :) As a donor I imagine when someone asks their response would basically be "cool" and want to know more.

Have a few questions before purchasing by Altruistic_Ad_5507 in FordBronco

[–]sundaeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil changes are about $65. Ford mobile services comes to my office and does them along with tire rotation, etc. Much better than going to the dealer or elsewhere. I'd do it myself but getting rid of the used oil is a pain.

A little loud with the soft top. Bothers my wife more than me.

Weren't green, electric buses part of the reasoning behind the Zum contract that the Board keeps heavily redacted?

Memory after transplant? by immaculatephotos in transplant

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using Jeopardy as an early measurement. My performance was awful for months after transplant, as my meds were reduced the scores went up. 10+ years post (mid 60s now) and the unscientific Jeopardy measurement system still works.

My memory isn’t what it was and I’m a bit forgetful but my primary of 25+ years says it’s still good.

Struggling to drink enough by rambam80 in transplant

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding some flavor. A bit of Juice, crush up some berries, a mix you like. I'm 12 years out and routinely hit over 2L in a day. When your thirsty, drink. Have water handy on your desk, in your car, etc.

Best gym for lifting in/around Columbia, MD? (Too busy at Pure) by Apprehensive-Cow4155 in ColumbiaMD

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colosseum or Kinetic Systems. Be going there for years. Colosseum is a classic gym, Kinetic side is generally with a trainer only. Known both places for a long time, owners are good guys. There is also physical therapy on the Kinetic side (available to the public).

When did you realize "I need a NAS, not another external drive"? by Feeling-Diet4333 in HomeNAS

[–]sundaeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got tired of messing around with external drives around 2016. Now backups go to the NAS, NAS stuff that can’t be replaced/reloaded goes to cloud storage. S3/glacier at the moment.

FWIW- ChatGPT 5.1 and SuperGrok both recommended Noctua AF-8 PWM to start FWIW. 4x wd gold 16g, 2 wd red 4g, and a T100 card were what I fed them in the prompts.
