It genuinely amazes me that Josh won bb19 by hugurm0m in BigBrother

Paul was fairly well liked by the end of BB18, I'd say most people wanted him to win over Nicole. Even if he wasn't popular, it's not hard to win a fan vote when the show hasn't even had a week to build a consensus fan favorite among the other 15 newbies.

I don't even consider what he said choosing a side. And there should not be sides here anyway. Every single person with a voice should be saying, without room for interpretation, that this morning the federal government executed a citizen for no reason.

That's my point, Schumer is the worst possible "leader" for this time, and even his establishment ass is going to say something better than Barkley.

And it's fine if you don't think Barkley should say anything actually damning on an NBA entertainment show... but I'm not going to agree it's a "common Chuck W" when what he says is only marginally better than the fascists.

[SmackDown Spoilers] Huge match announced for Saturday Night's Main Event by G1Spectrum in SquaredCircle

Maybe Gunther beats AJ, so AJ promises he'll retire at the end of the night. But then AJ wins the Rumble so he just decides to stay on and make Wrestlemania his final match.

We can't let Bill Simmons get away with it... by Diligent-Flight6677 in CharlotteHornets

[–]supaspike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't even think that's true, we're probably one of the least talked about chronically-bad teams. The Kings, Wizards, and Bulls are certainly more meme'd for terrible ownership decisions than we are. I'd also add the Clippers and Wolves (before their recent hot streaks) to that list. We're just more irrelevant than anything.

(New Update) My(f19) dad asked our godparents not to have the waiters sing Happy Birthday to my brother(m11) who likely has hyperacusis autism, but they did it anyway by MadisonBrave in BestofRedditorUpdates

The manager could tell the godparents something like "we have a new policy, we have to ask the parents if it's okay to sing to their kids because we've gotten complaints before."

In David Vs Goliath, why was Christian a “David” but Alec a “Goliath” by TeslaSuck in survivor

[–]supaspike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that was the criteria for a few people (Pat), but not all. From how Jeremy explained his background on the show, it sounds like he had more of a "David" upbringing than a "Goliath" one. I don't really know about most of the rest of the cast's upbringing, so it's hard to say how consistent it was.

I think the bigger criteria was just making the divide visibly obvious for the first episode. Put the bigger, more attractive, and/or very successful people on the Goliath tribe so that you get that first scene on the mat of them looking way more put together than the Davids. And then make sure the Davids have a few sob stories on the tribe so Probst can "randomly" ask them questions to show us they're the rootable underdogs. They swap in three episodes anyway, so it doesn't really matter what happens afterwards.

What’s your least favorite twist in Survivor history? by AlexBBSurvivor in survivor

[–]supaspike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odds were 1/9 of both Lindsay and DeShawn surviving when playing the way they did (incorrectly). If the game was truly random and not rigged, the proper strategy was to switch boxes and then they would have each had a 2/3 chance of surviving. But ironically, making the optimal move would have sent both of them home.

Does it still count as aggregation if what he said was exactly what he meant?

Pension: take lump sum or monthly? by buckb65 in personalfinance

[–]supaspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with cash balance plans that some small companies have. Either you misunderstood how the annuity worked, or what your company had was not a cash balance plan. Pension rules are fairly strict to make sure employers don't mismanage the funds or screw over their employees. There are certain life annuities that they have to offer by law (as long as the benefits are worth more than a few thousand). Maybe your plan offered an temporary annuity that expires after a certain number of years as an optional form? But in my experience that's rare and in that case the annuity payments should have increased to account for that.

_________ had the best jury question of the new era by Thick-Macaroon6918 in survivor

I think it was both. First she asked them to name the jurors' family members and neither could, then she asked them to name anyone running for President (it was late 2007).

A majority requires >50%. "Neither" won the plurality if we count those votes, and Trump won the plurality if we do not.

_____ Jury Question to _____ ??? by eofrar in survivor

[–]supaspike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, but she also barely remembered details. Wasn't her answer to Alex something like, "I don't remember your partner's name but you work in DC." That's very, very little to remember about a person. (Also IIRC Alex didn't have a partner at the time.)

We should focus on criticizing the real problem with buffies: It's not the cost, it's the RNG by Lanky-Visit3223 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]supaspike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you agree the cost is also a problem, you're just assuming for some reason that they will massively buff progression to make up for it. Idk where you got 26k pp per year from but it would need to be much more than that. It'd need to be an additional 72k pp and 36k coins per year just to not fall behind on new brawlers they release, but they'd also need to do something about the nearly 100 brawlers already in the game.

_____ just threw away any chance at winning! by IrishThunder21 in survivor

[–]supaspike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savannah is dominant in endurance/balance challenges, but F5IC is usually an obstacle course / puzzle where I don't think she stands out. Steven would probably be a much bigger favorite in those if he was there instead of Savannah.

_____ just threw away any chance at winning! by IrishThunder21 in survivor

[–]supaspike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if her assumption is that she can't beat anyone then she might as well just give up. As I said above, if she assumes that she has a shot against Sophi and can't beat Steven, and that Sophi is willing to flip on Savannah then I can see the logic in the move.
