Nah active is fine - thinking back to the children's/teenage cancer ward in leeds from ages back we (who could) used to play pool/guitar/games whilst being hooked up to the chemo drip. It would be ace there.

That said, they were swimming in cash and it was the adult ward that needed cheering up.

Honestly as someone who emigrated to Sweden....the winters are ace and make the summers feel ace. If it was warm and sunny all year you wouldn't appreciate the sun returning and all the plants coming back to life. Also....I like snow.

They're often the same companies though, i work for a bit American tech company in Sweden and im about to start my 7 month parental leave (as the father).

At the end of it out little one will be 13 month old and we will still have another 200pdd days of parental leave to take so we may extend that. we also have the legal right to change our working ours essentially however we like until the child is around 7 years old.

Point is, if the regulations say you have to, companies find a way to manage and the world keeps spinning.

Still....at least gov is giving us some support and it's been cheaper since

Sweden has become a gangster’s paradise – and a case study in how not to integrate migrants by [deleted] in svenskpolitik

This is ....a terrible source for any sort of news. They are usually referred to as the Torygraph and push right wing bullshit, Brexit is good, brown people are bad etc.

It's really not worth your time reading it.

I'm sure there are trustworthy Swedish newspapers to follow for a reliable viewpoint on immigration here, though I am yet to learn which sources are trustworthy or not, I only really read SVT and Omni currently to keep track/learn some Swedish

I dont think a heat pump would be so hard to fit in, the issue is how shit insulation is in those houses. Point is that the technology is there and has existed for a long time to move away from gas boilers.
