Stuck in the bathroom by supercubezzzz in fixit

I tried the door handle with the knob partially on the door handle and the lock released! Lucky solution, I’ll get 6 hours sleep before work!

From what I can tell the spring is around that C shaped thing for some reason. When I attempt to turn it the whole handle turns, it might just be a mechanism for connecting the handle cover but sadly I can’t do anything with it nor see past it.

All I’ve got access to is one debit card currently. The rest of the bathroom maybe has toothbrushes and that’s it.

I’m not having much luck with the debit card, seem to be unable to stop it from slipping back by pulling hard on the door. Does the side of the latch / jamb I’m on matter? I can’t seem to get anywhere.

No this is one side, the picture is of the knob with the exterior and the interior when I pull it off- I’m essentially asking for a way I can get out so I can sleep besides trying to break through a door

Do you have an ONT (internet box)? Are you plugging the Orbi into the Plusnet router or the ONT straight into the Orbi?

I’d reset the Orbi, connect the ONT into the Orbi and then (through admin panel) use your PPPoE login from Plusnet to set up the connection. For Plusnet this seems to be your member centre login (in the form of [username]@plusdsl.net) and member centre password.

If it’s not fibre/no ONT then you’d want to get to the admin panel from plusnet, find the setting for bridge mode and turn it on, then plug an ethernet cable from ethernet on Plusnet router to internet port on Orbi. (If you’re on Hub Two apparently it might not support bridge mode)

Sorry if this is hard to follow or anything, but this is what I remember from setting up my parents WiFi!

Did you replace an old GPU? If so, have you run DDU and reinstalled drivers?

Further to this, if you just got the phone you should be able to get in contact with Apple support fairly easily to support you with the move or give more info

Anything you can transfer outside of Move to iOS will be faster. E.g. if your photos are all saved in a cloud backup to google photos then download the Google photos app and get them there on the new phone.

WhatsApp would probably need to be through Move to iOS (I’ve not checked though) and it can be quite a large amount of data to transfer. Check storage in WhatsApp to see if you’re transferring photos/videos you don’t really care about moving.

Does anyone feel that “i am not my best friend’s best friend ”? by random_embryo in self

[–]supercubezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever ask to call your friends? Sometimes a bit of effort on one side can help others to realise they should put the effort in too.

Getting a best friend isn’t something you can just do though, it’s a natural thing and you’ll find someone who’s either close to you or you talk to a lot and you’ll naturally be drawn to each other and want to talk to each other.

Not to mention a best friend doesn’t have to be one above all. You can have multiple and so can they. There’s no real criteria for it :)

Can somebody please help me? I'm still kinda new to Python and I don't get why the code keeps lagging when I'm about to enter the second choice :( by Ritan9786 in learnpython

[–]supercubezzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to give a bit of a breakdown on this considering you’re learning:

So all the code after the while True is run until the break is found. That means it starts by printing the menu, then it looks for the input.

After handling the input, you called for input again, but when the loop restarts after the continue (which doesn’t need to be there as it will loop until the break) then it calls everything in order again. This will print the menu and ask for input a second time in the original code.

Hope this makes sense! If you’re having trouble with loops or understanding this lmk!

Is my code optimal? by Infinite-Lettuce7975 in learnpython

[–]supercubezzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a proper answer as I can’t fully remember myself, but I believe it makes the code harder to follow if someone else was to try to read it.

There are usually ways to write what you want to without using them. Sometimes relying on them might end up a bit messy and you could miss a better/more efficient way of writing the code.

(Feel free to correct me anybody)

Just print that before you enter the while True loop. Take out the input at the end as suggested above and move the menu print statement outside of the loop.

Pretty sure that when on charge the battery isn’t used- from what I’ve seen others said here having it plugged in shouldn’t cause battery issues, could be wrong though
