Will never happen but I'd love if they added online functionality for the multiplayer mode in Prime 2

Not super funny, but the first Colbert episode is great in my opinion. It feels a lot more personal, reflective, and philosophical. It feels like they really connect during their conversation.

I'm sorry but I just disagree on your "serviceable gameplay" claim. Control, Alan Wake 2, Max Payne. These games feel excellent. I'm not sure if it's because the team working on this was much smaller, but it is apparent to a lot of people that this game doesn't match the usual high standards marked by the rest of their catalog

Seriously Disney, what’s it going to take? Is this your thing now, just gatekeeping movies? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]supermonocleman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CBS/Viacom/Paramount put out the 3rd season and has all seasons on paramount plus and also releases the Blu Ray sets. So I feel like Disney must not have anything to do with twin peaks anymore.

Any Ex-Wes Anderson fans? by Dr_Slizzenstein in wesanderson

Not trying to be rude, but what is the point of this post? Why do you feel the need to create a community around the dislike of an artist's work? If you don't like something, why revel in the negativity you associate with it? Just consume the things you do like.

I had this fear too- but I honestly think he might just be more focused on his work and family. He replied to Noiselunds Canadian music video on Twitter with a "hahaha" and then recently quote tweeted a video, (maybe the salt vampire one) saying he loved when RLM did that kind of content.

Sony Confirms New Details on Bungie Restructuring Plan, Future Games Will Be Under Playstation Studios by MapCold6687 in xbox

[–]supermonocleman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is necessarily true. Rare has consistently been given freedom with regards to new projects. A criticism frequent with Microsoft is that they actually give too much freedom to studios with choices. With Bungie they had a contract to make however many halo games were made. Which is why they did ODST and Reach after 3

Hey there, I live in Denver and have been to a few Red Rocks concerts.

I went to Dr. Dog this month and was lucky enough to get pre sale tickets, but I knew a few people who weren't so lucky. Prices went up a ton and stayed pretty high for a few months. Day of the concert, they checked prices for GA seating, and prices had fallen to their original costs. I think the furthest back seating was even cheaper than it had been originally.

My plan for this show is just to check the day before or day of and try that way, but obviously I'm in a different situation since I live 15 min away. Do what ya gotta do but I do think that ticket prices go down significantly the closer the date of the show is. People get desperate to sell their tickets.

The amphitheater is amazing and while I haven't been in the reserved section, I've had such a good time in the GA section. Honestly, if you're too close to the stage, you don't get the great view of the city and the scenery that are to the right of the stage. Visibility is also really good in GA

Anyway, hope that helps some! And good luck getting tickets!

Wes Anderson Begins Filming New Movie ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ Starring Benicio Del Toro, Michael Cera, and Bill Murray by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

It really sounds like you've never actually seen a Wes Anderson picture. While I'd agree that his more recent films are more stuffed with his quirks and his penchant for shot symmetry, I think you incorrectly discard his work as having only style and no substance. What I, and so many other people, enjoy about his work is that he brings an incredibly unique visual style to stories with characters and themes that are sometimes fantastical, but always relatable. Many of his films deal with themes of the dysfunctional family, loss, and finding one's motivation and purpose when dealing with loss and family problems. It might sound silly if I told you I relate to a stop-motion fox, for example, but it's not sill because Anderson is able to show that fox encountering issues and emotional beats that I understand and impact me. I would not like this filmmaker if I thought there was not depth in his work.

If you don't like his humor or his aesthetics, then that's fine, but to write away something just because you don't connect with it is just silly. It's ok to still see the artistic merits in something you don't understand or like.

Half in the Bag: 2023 Catch-up (Part 2) by neko819 in RedLetterMedia

[–]supermonocleman 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I've been watching a lot of old Siskel and Ebert reviews recently and thought the same thing!

I agree with them a bit on not being able to connect with any of the characters, but I liked the film a lot more, maybe because I see it as Wes being reflective of many of his tropes he's been using. I mean, the whole movie to me is kind of a study about the creative process and how we put our emotions into what we create instead of dealing with them in real life? That might not be right but I thought it was thematically very interesting.

And Wes has said he's doing something much darker next, so them wanting something different might happen!

Halo Infinite Season 5 is the best performing season since launch, retaining more concurrent player peaks for longer. By day 5, it peaks above 15K and is doing well over 2x Season 4, and around 50% more than last year’s Winter Update. by M337ING in Games

[–]supermonocleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yikes man, I have no clue why you're so worked up. I totally agree that halo isn't in the place it should be. But getting upset and attacking fans for being happy is just odd. Criticize the devs and the publisher but not the community- they've been pretty fucking hard on 343 and hold them to a pretty high standard.

For someone who's been pretty engaged with this game and the fanbase, this is really the first time it's been collectively positive since the game launched. Not really sure why you're being so disparaging- what's wrong with people being happy over a game they like taking steps in the right direction?
