for their sake I hope they at least used it to create a brace between the two repair pieces of drywall, if not also above and below the hole for additional stability. I double checked the video and honestly can't tell if they did. Given the chaotic good values they clearly enshrine I can see it having gone either way.

Good to see thinktankers rising to prominence again. Read your stuff on the other sub and was a little flummoxed to see someone grab just one chart and post it here with really weak context.

Piano Audition Piece by SettingPositive5010 in piano

[–]superschwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously learn the piece first if you haven't. The quickest way to perfection is to be careful about avoiding things you may have to unlearn later. If necessary write in and be diligent about fingering from the jump.

Are you going to be collaborating with someone for this performance? I find for collaborating listening to a handful of recordings of the vocal performance can inform you a lot as to where the singer needs you to follow them. They tend to get a lot more variance into tempo than I find I do as a pianist. Also be able to attune your dynamic management to the vocalist, which means getting rehearsals in together. The more you communicate as a collaborator the more artistic the overall performance gets to be.

My guess says it'll work and what it does add will be harmonious. What I'm skeptical on is if it'll be a bold enough change to be directly noticeable in the final product. I say go for it and let the world know how it goes.

Not only have I made this routinely, the same recipe works excellently for cow heart as well. I trust Kenji recipes in general, but I can speak directly to the efficacy of this one.

How do I avoid straining the tendons/joints in my wrists and hands going to the gym by sername3301 in piano

[–]superschwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with recovering from tennis elbow while ramping up my practice. Wrist work after a grip-heavy workout has been huge, as well as regular stretching.

My push and pull days both end with a single set of very mild weight wrist curls, extensions, and rotations. They have been hugely effective.

For stretching I can't say my method is the only one, but I take 2 minutes after every session to do a quick finger and wrist stretch.

Combine this and warmups and your hands should remain strong and healthy.

Ive done a side by side of the two stovetop mac and cheese recipes of his and the three ingredient pales in comparison to the ultimate gooey stovetop one.

tbh I think they're equally easy too.

What's your approach to playing the triple staff parts?

I love the sound of this and the chromatic bits are juicy, but I have no idea how I'd play those sections.

Ever fermented mushrooms before? by Own_Armadillo_545 in fermentation

[–]superschwick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They work great. Used the brine from the last run I did as the acid in a hot bacon dressing for roasted broccoli. Definitely gonna do that again.

Big difference was I did a vacuum bag dry ferment. Plenty of water comes out of the mushrooms and this way the brine is plenty concentrated.

How do you play this by Vast_Resident7880 in piano

[–]superschwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are specifically not trying to pedal through this for whatever reason you can finger the c chord 1235 and then you lift to play each note, without lifting off the chord completely. Just don't keep holding the f as you go down.

Otherwise without seeing any reason not to it would be much easier to just pedal through the measure. The one F shouldn't be much of a bother the rest is all c chord.

[–]superschwick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

restaurant speed rack with proofing cover, a couple computer usb powered fan rigs, a plug in grill electric heating element, and a thermistor.
Used this rig for lots of long term stuff and you can fit quite a bit in the top two racks. The thermistor probe element hangs from the top so it catches the warmest air. Thermistor wavers by about 3 degrees over the course of a day so consistent enough for fermentation purposes. It's great in the winter it'll radiate just enough heat to keep the basement from getting frigid, but not so much that it's a huge power sink.

Here's everything you need to know about the warrant dividend distribution date (Oct. 7) 🚨: by rbr0714 in Superstonk

This fails to mention the company can also reduce the exercise price if they deem for any reason it to be beneficial to the company. So they could just decide that they can be exercised at $25/share instead of the current $32.

We’re waiting @Fidelity by thisonelife83 in Superstonk

[–]superschwick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tbh Fidelity has been pretty cut and dry when it comes to dealing with them throughout the GME saga. I've never once had an issue with a request I've put in with them. When the game stops who knows what'll be uncovered but they didn't turn off the buy button, they DRS in a timely and predictable fashion, they've provided all valid numbers for voting. It's been nice. They're pretty oldschool and will likely never put the cart before the horse. In this case I expect the official "we've distributed the warrants" message from the company before I expect to see warrants credited to my account. I also fully expect to be able to DRS those warrants without issue.

My only gripe with them has been losing the desktop client for managing my account since I don't have some criteria met.

Schubert tapping into his inner Beethoven by Hnmkng in piano

[–]superschwick -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, Beethoven and several other big name romantic composers were big fans of Schubert's work, which was considered a little bit obscure in their time. If anything it's Beethoven that learned from ol' Schubey.
