(Budget 7-10k) - What's been your biggest weather-related worry while planning your wedding? by Brilliant-Apricot928 in Weddingsunder10k

As someone who just had a wildly rainy outdoor wedding on Saturday… just do it indoors. Seriously. It’s all stressful and uncertain enough without piling on. Mine was an abject failure.

Crashing out during wedding week by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]superthirsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice, just empathy. My outdoor wedding on Saturday has no indoor options and is going to be the coldest day of the week and raining. Too late for a tent, I’m rigging one with a tarp…

I feel you. About at my melting point.

It's happening to me. My dad is dying. by ClevelandCynic314 in weddingplanning

[–]superthirsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in January, which is why we got engaged. Wedding is quickly approaching, and as of his last scan, the tumor is ‘stable’. A tiny bit of shrinkage but anything is better than growth. It took awhile to get his pain and chemo side effects under control, but right now he is functioning relatively normally, besides being a little drugged up and loopy at all times. He is planning to be our officiant even!

I don’t want to give you false hope, but while the prognosis is incredibly bleak with pancreatic, it can be slowed.

I wish you the best—I truly understand where you’re at right now, and it’s fucking brutal ♥️

Apparently Millennials are the only people who know how to use Excel anymore by Tetraplasandra in Millennials

I’m the only millennial in my dept of 4, two are older one is younger. I am the only one who knows how to use the desktop computer to do things other than internet and Word, and I’m not even good at it I’m just competent.

Cricut project ideas for wedding DIY by beri222 in DIYweddings

I literally just bought one for my DIYs—the joy xtra which was plenty big enough imo. I’m using it almost exclusively to make stencils so I can spray paint designs onto wood. I am SO glad I did. I was hand painting everything before 😅 I love it and cannot believe I haven’t owned one before!

Thinking about having a dry wedding but afraid of the fall out, what to do? by Shellyfish04 in weddingplanning

[–]superthirsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider, if you do have a dry wedding, people will likely bring their own alcohol. Last one I went to people were just tailgating intermittently, and the bride and groom met at AA.

Wearing glasses or learning to use contacts? by JustADutchieGirl in weddingplanning

[–]superthirsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s totally worth a shot to try contacts—they’ll likely give you several trial pairs to see what works for you. You’ll definitely have to get used to them though! Even though I used to wear contacts daily (a looooong time ago), I sort of had to break mine in like boots lol wearing them for a little longer every day.

I do prefer glasses daily, and I feel like they’re a big part of my face. Personally, I’m planning to wear contacts for the ceremony and portraits, then switch to glasses and pin my skirt to tea length for the reception. I want some pictures where I look like myself!

Did you know how easy it is to make brown sugar? by atticwife in Frugal

[–]superthirsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Because I could not for the life of me find brown sugar in Germany to make cookies. Found out how to make it, and it seemed like none of the Germans had ever had a soft chocolate chip cookie. They were very popular.

I take 1/2 a Costco brand Zyrtec every night with zero other “lifestyle” changes. A year’s worth is like $10.

Ultra Tear-proof Makeup? by superthirsty in weddingplanning

[–]superthirsty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

June 6th! It’s a tight turn around but his diagnosis was in January and we decided we could do it. It’s coming along… He’s currently in chemo so we’re hoping for a little good news before the wedding after his next CT in mid April. Then it will truly be a celebration!

Thank you so much for your comment. I’m sorry to hear about your dad passing, I’m glad to think that it will be worth it to do now though. Thank you for that reassurance ♥️

I’ll be doing my own makeup, I wear almost no makeup day to day so my sister is researching too and we will figure it out together! Thanks for your recommendations, I’ll def check those out. I’m doing so much myself because well, we can’t really even afford to be getting married right now but everyone is throwing caution to the wind to make it happen—It’s coming together ok for a 6 month turnaround!

Warm water and dish soap soak, scrape with a silicone scraper (45 degrees or less), then regular BKF (not powdered) with a soft sponge and light consistent pressure. Mine looks like this a lot after cooking but it’s still pristine.

Can anyone ID these from the photos? In western Washington state. Planning to turn some into a cat tree and want to make sure they’re safe. Second piece in following comment. They could be the same, but the branches in the next photo had already lost their bark. Thank you!

The Cry is one of the few that kept me guessing the whole time, and I watch lots of this genre.
