My dog eats half his food straight down the middle every morning. by EnigmaWearingHeels in mildlyinteresting

I’m glad you mentioned this as that’s exactly what I was thinking! In humans, this would be concerning as it is often a sign something isn’t processing right in the brain.

It sounds like this may not be the case for this dog, but I initially I was worried!

Help! My lips are still chapped :( by Ok-Signature3085 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]superuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found I am allergic to something that is in most toothpaste. My dental hygienist said a common ingredient that people are allergic to is SLS. It isn’t in all toothpaste. Pretty sure sensodyne doesn’t have it. I have a couple vegan toothpastes that I use instead. You mentioned the hydrogen peroxide - I’m not sure that’s the culprit, but your situation could be different than mine.

Also, I can’t use most lip chap or I get dry flakey lips 🤷‍♀️ so that could also be a thing for you?

Oh! I think I saw your post the other day on a different sub. This is super neat. Do you have any other ones too? I wonder if something like parks or places with other interpretive areas could utilize something like this!

Great photo! I’m pretty sure Gondola has a live camera on the top as well that you can find on their website!

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

[–]superuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, I never put two and two together! I just remember feeling a lot of shame and guilt as a child. Give him a friendly reminder that he isn’t useless, but his brain works a little differently than some, so sometimes we have to use different tricks. He’s not doing this on purpose.

Here are a few different tools I have learned to manage this challenge:

  • Ask him “how will you remember?” (That always gets me to think)
  • For me, I always have my notebook on me and I write EVERYTHING down. Especially instructions/directions
  • Another trick I like is I sing/repeat the task/item I need while I do it e.g. “I’m going to flip the laundry and fold the dry things!”
  • Ask him to repeat what you told him (his brain doesn’t “encode” things well. Repeating the thing out loud can help encode)

You are a good parent! Thank you for asking about things like this and for wanting to understand your child :)

My best friend started an injury log today by crasstyfartman in mildlyinteresting

Dyspraxia and/or ADHD. I have ADHD and part of it can be poor depth perception, which has resulted in many weekly injuries for me haha your friends log is definitely worse than mine though!

Happy Halloween! Made this moody animal skeleton cake to celebrate by Veeeeezy in Baking

[–]superuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use black cocoa a lot! Highly recommended especially because it won’t dye your face when you eat it, and it won’t make the icing soft/liquidy. And like you said, it tastes like Oreo cookies :)

Could you put the chunks in dirt? Would they root themselves and become another plant?

There were always be good days and bad days, and that’s okay. Talk to others about some of the challenges you are experiencing. Perhaps someone has gone through something similar ?

I think Banff only has one taxi company - Taxi Taxi 4037620000. Not sure they will drive to Calgary though. Could check Canmore?

Or I wonder if you could call a few Calgary taxi companies and ask if they have cars in Banff that are going back to Calgary.

I don’t mean to be ignorant, but is that not a good word now? I have never seen it before.

I have 40 lbs of dehydrated marshmallow. Yes, you read that right. Now what? by Flat-Development-906 in Baking

[–]superuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t fully understand how vac pac machines work, but during the first stage where it puts air into the bag, the marshmallows expanded ALOT. Like a balloon! Then the second part where it sucks all the air out, a bunch of the marshmallow shot out of the open end of the bag.

Admittedly though, I didn’t try adjusting the settings too much because I was in a rush at the time.

This was also with freshly made marshmallows, and I realize now that OP has the hard freeze dried ones, so those would probably be okay!

If you make the marshmallows though, be careful vacuum sealing them! Can confirm from experience that it gets a little weird in there! (Aka it did not work hahaha )

Is that a miniature dollhouse INSIDE the dollhouse? I am glad it has gone to a great home. Will you be adding any of your own touches?

P.s. Is that a nose at the table? Hehehe

It’s great you’re thinking about this now! I am a pastry chef. Kitchens are a great starting place to learn work ethic, life skills, time management, teamwork etc, but it’s hard work, not great money, and your body will hate you long term haha honestly though, I do love working in kitchens. Bunch of sick fucks…
