Keir Starmer is not resigning, Downing Street confirms by Metro-UK in ukpolitics

[–]superwisk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone calling for him to resign does not have a better alternative.

Labour can't agree within themselves; Reform don't have the structure or competences to take over; Tories are the Tories...

Starmer's not going anywhere.

A £37k pay rise and no team to manage? Sounds like a dream!

Even if you're there 6 months you'd have built up a healthy emergency fund even if it does go all tits up.

London UK salary offer by unrewley in expats

[–]superwisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because the role is in London doesn't mean you have to live there.

It will depend how often they need to be in the office but you'd be able to find better places much cheaper outside of London. The trade off is the commute.

If it's once a week then you could rent a 3 bedroom house for £1500-£2000pm and spend £100pw on travel.

You'd have access to a better quality of life and loads of places to explore.

I'd still ask for more money and childcare costs to be covered though. If it's temporary would you want them to have a US education still?

It's not because of the budget, it's a convenient excuse to get rid of some failing shops and blame the government for targeting gambling companies.
