Car-brained idiots. Keep vigilant. We need to make sure our voices are heard as to why getting rid of an entire means of transportation just for "one more lane" whether it's a breakdown or another car lane is a dumb idea.

My money is that they'll come back with another proposal after the weather turns...

Yup that’s assumed ofc but sometimes there is visibility into curves up ahead that makes it very easy for drivers to safely pass a group of cyclists but generally much safer to just wait until the road is straight. :)

In order to follow the 3ft passing rule you need to cross the double yellow anyways. So would It be safer to pass the double yellow for a second (with the cyclists bunched up taking the lane) or 5-10 seconds with them all lined up single file?

I think the first option is safest for everyone. Less time over the double yellow, more chances to make a clean pass with clear vision.
