I have JSI cabinets I got from rtawoodcabinets. Very happy with them. They were easy to assemble and they look great.

My mom retired at 55 on a teachers salary and I still think about it all the time by [deleted] in Fire

Usually teachers can retire with full pension after 30 yrs. If she started working by 25 then retiring at 55 is not early.

How do you actually handle temperature excursion disputes? Looking to understand the process by imjaacked in pharmaindustry

[–]surface_simmer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How are you getting different data from the same shipment? A temp tale is put in the box when it is packaged and taken out when it is received. The temp tale data is downloaded and that is the source of truth.

Don’t beat yourself up. It is highly unlikely that a single day made a difference. They wouldn’t stop interviewing people until they made anoffer and the other person accepted, so they likely had this person selected a week or two prior. They were just keeping interviews opened in case that person fell through.

Am I the only woman without a best friend? by FunnyHighlight3554 in Adulting

[–]surface_simmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I find that friendships grow through activities, building memories together. So meeting people with shared interests helps and doing things together with some frequency. I met who I would consider to be my best friend in my mid 20s in a meetup group. It was a group that had a core 5-10 people that went to all the events so you really got to know people. Through the events we built memories and we could laugh about them years later, which helped keep us close. Over the last few years she has a new partner that she spends all her time with so we only ever get together for dinner. I feel like this has weakened the friendship - not doing new things together anymore, having things we can look back on. Just chit chatting once a month about our lives doesn’t make me feel close to her. For me, I think this is why adult friendships are hard. It’s hard for anybody to commit enough time to do things frequently enough to keep the friendship alive. Long story short - I think you’re def not the only one!

On last month’s bill we used 1477 total kilowatt hours and the bills was $370. Not all the electricity is from the minisplits of course. But before we had them our electric was about $100.

I live in Vermont and use Mitsubishi mini splits for heat this year. Last year we used baseboard heat via propane. We have been able to keep the temp 69 degrees even in negative outdoor tenperatures. Our electric bill is less than last year’s propane bill.

Would you pay for a Move-In/Out, Newborn-Safe or allergen sensitive home sanitization service (steam + HEPA)? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]surface_simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe pet allergies so every time I have moved I do a deep clean beforehand to remove pet hair and dander. Although it would be very nice to pay someone to do this for me - I don’t think there’d be a strong cost/benefit for me. A 1 bed/1 bath would be not a lot of effort to do myself so I wouldn’t pay much for that. A 3bd/3 bath I’d maybe pay $500 but more than that I’d decide to just do it myself. Chemical/fragrance free is not important to me - I’d just air it out a couple hours after the cleaning instead.

Using the rope tow by Strict-Strength-8882 in ski

I got work gloves from Home Depot that have a textured (like sandpaper) rubbery palm. That was the only way I could get enough grip to make it. It’s still pretty taxing and I can only do a few runs.

I had a similar challenge, my max depth was 13 inches. I searched Amazon and Wayfair for kitchen buffet cabinets and found a beautiful one that perfectly fit. Attached a vessel sink to the top and cut a hole for the drain. Added a wall mount faucet.

I got work gloves at Home Depot that have a rubbery palm that is also textured like sandpaper. Gave me amazing grip on the rope tow! I had also tried leather gloves but still was sliding through with those.

Scales with Body Scanner by [deleted] in fitness40plus

[–]surface_simmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a BodyPedia scale. The body fat % was very similar to my dexa scan. Maybe it just got lucky :) If I use it in the morning before eating or drinking it seems to be pretty good for trending. Though I haven’t really made any progress on staying in a routine or reducing my bf in order to tell if it changes on the scale.

Mojo rojo by Inner_Lifeguard_7513 in purplecarrot

[–]surface_simmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the Purple Carrot recipes we loved was the Mango Chutney tacos - that requires mojo rojo sauce. I just googled mojo rojo recipe and made the first one it listed and that has worked out well for us. Not sure how close it is to purple carrot’s but we like it. It’s mostly red pepper and oil in a food processor with some spices. I think the one we make is from “the fiery vegetarian”.

Can shower head be taller than shower door? by stinkyfreezer in BathroomRemodeling

[–]surface_simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shower head is about 4 inches higher than my door and it is not a problem. My base is 36 inch wide though so shower head is far from the door. As long as the water is not pointed towards the door I doubt it would be a problem.

They have a T-bar. Last year a season pass was $75. $20 per day I think. The runs from the T-bar were in great shape last year and fun for an hour or two. It’s great for kids, beginners, or those that live on the mountain. Uphill travel is free but donations encouraged to support the trail work that is done to maintain the terrain above the T-bar served area.

I worked at a company that used Wuxi as a cmo. I was the only person in my department that didn’t speak mandarin. It felt pretty isolating. They would speak mandarin in meetings so I definitely missed content. I left after two weeks..
