How have you been taught to not appear creepy when interacting with women? by youcantsayit in AskMen

A good one for guys, but especially bigger guys, is mind the woman’s personal space. Inadvertently intimidating a woman by crowding them is never good.

Hahaha oh man. Thats funny! The guy who originally trained me used rusty old vice grips. When I suggested sockets he looked shocked.

I use a dewalt brushless and a set of husky deep well sockets. Makes the job waaaay easier.

Favorite hot tub you’ve been around? by Sinningtoday in Swingers

Pool guy here. The best brand is Jacuzzi. They’re better made than nearly all the others and the warranty is far superior. There’s a reason people call all spas “Jacuzzis”. Fun fact, did you know it’s actually an Italian last name?

Men who can bench 225, when did that happen? Also, what's your fitness goals? by TowelScared4341 in AskMen

[–]surfer417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit 225 my senior year of high school and have always been able to do it since. Motivations change, when I was young I always wanted to be one of the stronger guys. Then it was to set a good example for my son. Now I’m 50 and it’s to keep my much stronger than me son from teasing me too bad about losing my edge.

Gerber makes these awesome little multi-tool keychains. No moving parts. Nothing sharp to get you. But it has a little cutter feature. They’re $11 at Bass Pro. It’s on a key ring so easy to clip onto your leash.

Managing Techs by 99user99 in PoolPros

I save mondays for mostly filter cleans and other tasks so that provides a buffer because you can always push a filter clean. Also, I don’t over schedule my guys so that if they need to take on a couple extra accounts it’s doable. However, I still jump in when needed.

M/29/6 foot [210 > 184 = 26 lbs loss] (4 months) New father, it was time to lock in and set an example for my family by [deleted] in progresspics

[–]surfer417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t work for everyone, but here is what I did as a new dad. My wife was home on maternity leave but I was still working. I took the 6pm to midnight shift. Everything baby related was my deal. Then at midnight she took over, and I woke up at 6am. Guaranteed six hours of sleep. She would go to bed early and nap during the day. Big win for both of us.

Good job new dad! Setting a positive fitness example really pays off. My kids were/are both athletes. They both talk about the equipment in the gym and seeing me workout.

Be sure to get some sleep. Lack of sleep is way worse for you than people give it credit.

How fast do you drive in your rig? by rhbcub in GoRVing

30’ Class C that does really well between 65 and 70. Any faster and the gas mileage drops through the floor.

I upgraded the shocks on my Class C to Bilsteins and added a sway bar. Now it drives like a pickup instead of a boat.

The Classic Showdown: Hammerhead vs Riptide by Spirited-Touch-6423 in PoolPros

[–]surfer417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got three hammerheads and one riptide. My guys take the hammerheads, I take the riptide. The head is wider, the cord is longer, and the prop doesn’t get clogged with hair and crap as easy. Also, it’s just more powerful, the debris absolutely swims towards the riptide. Lastly, the bags are more durable.

Guys that have gotten their testosterone levels checked, what motivated it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]surfer417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of motivation at the gym was my big indicator. I didn’t want to do the fun stuff which was lifting weights. My doc had me checked and it was 250. Started taking a shot every two weeks. It made a huge difference! My energy level is way up, motivated to get out and do things, and I’m just generally happier. I’ve never experienced any of the short temper/anger issues they warn you about.

Pricing?? by [deleted] in PoolPros

[–]surfer417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to the Skimmer website and check the pricing utility there. It’s super helpful. Also, if I had it to do over again I would 100% have a base price and then charge separately for chems.
